A great little hide-away in a beautiful village. We used it as a base for climbing Snowdon so the swimming pool was very welcomed on a hot day after climbing a mountain.

The room was clean and plenty of towels. WiFi wasn’t good in the room but very good in the bar. Breakfast was average, would have liked more selection in the “bakery section” maybe a bagel, crumpets, crusty bloomer. Fruit selection was lacking too. Swimming pool and facilities surrounding it were clean but dated but we had a good time

Room and bedroom were lovely, french doors with garden outdoor view , you would not expect that from the front door of your room and the front area , bit shabby and dated, saying that bathroom very dated was clean but could do with modernization. Pool was my biggest let down, small very busy and again generally little shabby , temp was good , but I didn't stay in for long , on our visit jacuzzi was full of young lads , all friends couldn't get near it . Quite a walk to breakfast from our room/ chalet, so took car ( disabled) breakfast very basic , can't say much more, not memorable. The area is beautiful, river and scenery, cute shops , obviously expensive, train area good place to visit , enough places to eat and get coffee , we come back regularly so great place. Carpark is broken up deffo needs attention. .

Really clean, beautiful setting and friendly staff. The food was good too. The only reason for dropping a star was the pool facilities. They felt a little tired and in need of some proper maintenance. The lockers and changing areas were quite ropey – with outdoor shoes effectively allowed right up to poolside. There’s only one shower in each changing room, and in the ladies there’s just a single private changing space sectioned off with a shower curtain. What impacted our stay most was that the pool is only accessible via an outdoor route. On both visits we had to run back across the car park in wet swimsuits to return to our room to shower and change. It also meant we didn’t make use of the pool after checkout. Checkout was 10:30am but pool access was available until lunchtime, which would have been lovely in theory. However, as a family of four staying one night, the bedroom facilities were so good that we just couldn’t justify showering and getting ready in the gym changing rooms.

The room had a lot of dust on the shower rail. The sofa on lifting up the cushions it had a great deal of crumbs underneath with finger nail cuttings. The television had a blue mark across the bottom of the screen this will need replacing. The sink in the bathroom the plug would not close so this was inconvenient for shaving and washing. We enjoyed our stay but these issues would have to be addressed. We aren't over fussy but we like the room spotless and a fair price for our stay.
