JR Shikoku History

JR Shikoku or Shikoku Railway Company is officially named Shikoku Ryokaku Tetsudo Kabushiki-gaisha. This is a railway company under the management of the Japan Railway Group (JR Group). This subsidiary of the JR Group primarily serves cross-city train travel, in four prefectures centered on Shikoku Island, Japan.

Headquartered in Takamatsu, Kagawa-Japan, JR Shikoku was born from the privatization of Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987.
