The Empress is such a great hotel. Historic and beautiful. Staff and service is top shelf. Will stay there again. Amazing location and service make it out first choice in Victoria.

Room were double bed paid for queen . Noise air conditioner

We got checked in and left for a few hours came back. They had done a full turn down service brought fresh ice, and water in our rooms. Remade the beds just a phenomenal experience. All of the staff were above and beyond. They were so helpful and wonderful and accommodating highly recommend this place to absolutely anyone. The pool was great because it has the main swimming pool, which is level depth throughout and then they have a little kitty pool at one end for tots or babies and then they have a nice really deep and large hot tub, which is amazing. There’s also a lovely sauna when you get out.

Vishnu suggested we upgrade to fairmont gold. It was amazing. We got use of the balcony. Truly a great experience the staff in the lounge we amazing.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Fairmont Empress. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, but the carpeting—both inside the rooms and throughout the hallways—feels a bit worn and could use refreshing. The service, however, is consistently excellent, with staff who are warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. One thing I did notice was that the pool area floor tended to be a bit dirty each day, which took away from the otherwise great amenities. The in room dining is great as well. In short: beautiful hotel, great service, but a few areas could use some updating and more frequent upkeep.

Everything was absolutely perfect, and I can’t recommend the spa enough. We got a couples’ massage. Don’t be too scared of the prices—the experience was worth every penny. Across the board, the staff was helpful and courteous, and our stay was as relaxing as could be.

The Empress is a fabulous old hotel with the absolute top notch staff and the service is extraordinary. Afternoon tea was special and the ability to walk to everything is fantastic. My wife and I loved the whole experience

Splendid facility , immaculately clean with an extraordinary helpful staff that never stopped asking us if we needed anything else. Gold Level service allowed us a sumptuous free breakfast and an afternoon snack bar that substituted for dinner a number of times. We swam in the Health Club pool every morning and then head up for breakfast down the hall from our room. No view for us, but other rooms certainly had one. Expensive, but you get your money worth.

The high tea was good. The small flute of champagne was oversold and terribly overpriced as about $50 per glass with tax. We felt conned. Victoria has many great restaurants. Stay away from the empress. The gym was microscopic. Zero stars. Great location 😎

The carpets seemed to need to be deep cleaned or replaced. Other than that, no other complaint.

Five stars in every category. The hotel has been wonderfully renovated. The rooms even the basic room is luxurious with wonderful linens and everything you need. Everybody at the hotel is incredibly helpful. Not enough stars.

Location was everything about the empress. Great food at the hotel and near with walkable access to the heart of Victoria. Highly recommend renting a car as a lot of cool castles and beaches are close drives away. The garden was fantastic and live music and salmon at the hotel restaurant was great .

Staff at the front desk are very helpful. Foods in general are pretty good. Breakfast has plenty of options. At the inner harbor waterfront, the location is unmatched. The only thing that I noticed requires improvement is the bath tub window. It is only half closed, so the water easily splashes out on the floor.

The staff was professional and helpful in every way. The restaurants have a variety of choices to fit all your needs. It is an elegant experience to remember.
