I stay in hotels around six times a month, and I can honestly say this was one of the poorest experiences I’ve had in a long time. In the restaurant, every steak dish on the menu was unavailable, and the only real alternative offered was a burger. When the food arrived, I asked for condiments — they never appeared. The place was quiet, yet no one made eye contact or checked in, despite me being seated right beside the bar. I eventually ordered dessert, waited 15 minutes, and had to chase it up. Seconds after I asked, it suddenly appeared, clearly forgotten about. To top it off, a service charge was added automatically, which felt completely undeserved. The room wasn’t much better. I was woken just after 6am by the shower in the next room — unbelievably loud, far beyond anything I’ve ever heard in a hotel. At checkout, I was told I had an £18 parking charge. When I questioned it, I was told it had “nothing to do with them” because it was a third‑party company, despite the hotel collecting the payment. Not exactly taking ownership of the guest experience. Overall, the hotel trades on its name, not its standards. Very poor

This is a lovely hotel the only thing that let it down was the evening meal . Every night choices on the menu weren’t available. We stayed 5 nights and the evening meals were disappointing. We asked to speak to the chef and were told that all the meals came in frozen except the steak and didn’t resemble a rump steak it was shaped like a jenga brick and grossly we were offer gravy which we had to pay extra for and it only came with a few chips and rocket with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Very disappointing I expected better from a Hilton hotel who we have stayed with before and never been disappointed

Outside hot tub very cold. Pigeon poo before going down the stairs and had not been removed for days on end. Distressed elderly ladies who where members after 2nd false alarm in less than 2 weeks. Scottish lady on reception was informed by myself & Daughter. She was abrupt, uncaring and raised her voice... Not good. Thank you

Room was lovely and clean, great breakfast and great staff. Location is lovely. The spa facilities are great but just need the changing rooms scanning a bit more regularly to remove towels from guests who do not tidy up after themselves!

Spa wasn’t relaxing because of an intrusive video chat in the jacuzzi that spoilt the experience.

Warm greeting on reception by Dev who welcomed us to the hotel. He made checking in & checking out a pleasant experience. All staff around the spa, bar area & restaurant were friendly. The hotel itself had a restful & chilled atmosphere & we would highly recommend it.

Hotel is fine although not as nice as I expected for the money. Parking can be a challenge. Location is really great for the city centre and the spa area is very nice, but gets busy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice, but the restaurant for evening meal could have been better.

An elegant room with a spacious en-suite, and a large comfortable bed. Fluffy towels provided with additional ones when using the spa. A modest spa with pool, jacuzzi sauna and steam room, but perfectly clean and welcome on a rainy afternoon. All the staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant with top marks going to the reception girls. A lovely stay- thank you

I'm always surprised to see this hotel get such low ratings. The public areas are really nice. The pool and spa area very good. And the rooks about as decent as you'd imagine on a property of this style and age without major refurbishment. Even the breakfast is decent. I can only imagine that people's expectations of. Hilton hotel called teg Majestic are really high, especially if you've paid over £300 for a night whilst a conference is on at the centre next door. Pay a third of that off peak and it's really good value for money.

The grounds and building was beautiful, nipping clean. Breakfast was beautiful quality and plenty of choice, self serve coffee machines however I can’t drink cows milk so the staff were happy to freshly make me an oat milk latte. The spa was beautiful plenty of lounges and the hot tub outdoor was a nice wake up the next morning in the fresh air
