Long time since I had been to this Hotel and my memories were that about 15 years ago it was a tired looking place. I was aware that there had been a refurb and was pleasantly surprised with the look of the hotel, our room was lovely and the King size bed was fantasticly comfortable. My wife loved the Spa and used it everyday. The location is excellent for exploring Harrogate the only downside was the £15 a day parking fee which for a paying guest is a bit much. The snowfall over the weekend was lovely as well.

Really lovely hotel, only fault well not a fault but inconvenience really, they wanted to charge £10 per person for bath robe and slippers, which I did not pay as the hotel we stayed at night before gave them out free. Very inconvenient when using the spa facilities! Apart from that it was a beautiful hotel and we would stay again!

The first thing that hit us was an additional £15 to park in the hotels carpark overnight which I personally thought was disgusting when we already paid £157 to stay. We chose this hotel because it had a hottub,Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The hot tub and Jacuzzi were both broken and not in usewhich was upsetting as we were looking forward to it. The swimming pool to the hotel was freezing and you were only allowed to be in the pool area and steam and sauna for one hour only which they dont tell you bedore you book. So overall the spa was very disappointing. The hotel wanted £10 per person for the use of a robe but its also non refundable. Our hotel room was a super king guest room which was gorgeous but extremely hot when we arrived. The bathroom was fitted with all mod cons and lovely lotions for each guest to use. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, hairdryer and kettle, tea and coffee and complimentary cookies on arrival. We booked a table in the restaurant for 8.30pm for 5 of us and when we arrived they didnt have our reservation that we made with reception when we checked in. The food was lovely but expensive for what we were given. We spent the evening in the bar area which was busy with only one person serving and when i asked the other 2 staff if they were serving they told me they we busy stocking the fridge. ( Not great customer service when we spent £300 before 10pm !) Hotel lounge was freezing Breakfast was gorgeous but pricey at £17.

Building work in grounds, winter so muddy. Outdoor jacuzzi out of order so didn't swim pool looked small and busy. No instructions for show/bath got hair wet trying! Fridge unplugged no instructions as to where to find, on hands n knees looking. Kettle hidden away no directions to find, had to hunt. Lamps either side of bed odd lampshades. Cold water never really cold. Found odd bits of housekeeping referring to previous guest. Parked through an app for 26 hours for £8 5 minutes walk away rather than hotel car park fee. All this points to jaded or tired accommodation and lack of attention to detail by housekeeping and general customer service. Plusses warm cookies on arrival. Slept well, comfy bed. Lots of space. Central Harrogate.

Room was far too small pictures oversold what was booked, very disappointing to open the door and be met with just a bed overpowering the room. Maintenance was poor in the room itself with unsanded patches of filler on the ceiling and walls unpainted and generally didn’t appear too clean. There was not enough room for two of us with minimal room to store our bags. The wardrobe had no hanging space inside for my ironed shirts. There was no bath and the toilet seat was excessively loose. Disappointing stay.

A magnificent hotel overlooking Harrogate. A comfortable, large room which had been cleaned beautifully. However, there was a mixed bag of staff. On reception, fantastic, one young lady at the bar, brilliant, cleaning staff, excellent. The rest of the staff interaction was poor and I was left with the feeling that they just couldn't care less. It was as though there was a collective sucking of lemons. The food in the Champagne and Grill was just terrible and very expensive. I am certainly prepared to pay for good food but this was not, in my opinion, even remotely good. Overall, the three nights that I stayed was average with some highlights.

Shocking service at the pool, details of which hidden in alot of text on website. Had to wait 40min for my 2yr old to have a swim. Then all night from 7.30pm until 2.20am kids running round banging in doors playing football in corridors and being nuisance. We have reported it several times and it was not sorted out. Terrible night sleep and waking up my baby by banging on door!

Nice spa hotel for the money. Very close to bars and restaurants in the town centre . The only complaint was our room was on the first floor near to a noisy extraction fan which sadly was on throughout the night .

Sadly the hotel was overcrowded the first night with a special event. The atmosphere was pretty chaotic and not the “spa” type experience you’d expect. Also the wine glasses were filthy, I had to ask for a new glass 3 times as all were dirty. Not ideal. The spa pool was cold and jacuzzi not working also we were only given a very short “complimentary” period to be able to use the spa facilities and weren’t given spa robes /towel or slippers/flip flops. We only used the facilities for 15mins as we’re quite disappointed with it overall. Definitely wouldn’t pay extra to use these facilities.

The service in the dining room for the evening meal was poor, unprofessional and on one occasion rude. The temperature in the dining room was cool and when we mentioned this to the staff member taking us to the table responded by telling us “you can’t please everyone!”. We had to wait 20 from being seated for someone to take our drinks order. When the waitress eventually stopped talking to an off duty colleague she was very off hand even rudely corrected my pronunciation of a menu item. There was at least 20-30 minutes between courses. Two of the 4 mains arrived first the the other two mains were not we ordered so the waiter then wandered around the room to find who had ordered them before returning to the kitchen to get the correct order. Following completion of our mains it was at least 35 minutes before someone came to remove the dirty dishes but left one, saying he would be back but failed to return. We had to eventually try to attract the attention of a staff member to be given a desert menu and he made a flippant remark about how busy he was as an excuse for not giving us one earlier. We then had to wait even longer when we asked for the bill as the waitress was again having a conversation with her colleagues rather than attending to guests. So overall a very poor experience and obviously declined to pay the service charge. We did report this to the front of house manager on duty who said she would pass on our observations to the management team but no response

Room was very underwhelming The room was for someone with disabilities as we had emergency pull cords and the sink was just above knee height. Windows didn’t close properly so could hear the wind whistling through. The staff used toilet paper to stop the draft. And after the morning shower we had a smell of drains in the room. Not very good value for the money.
