Room way ti hot

This is ann, ken's wife. A total disaster. Arrived to find a wedding had been going on for 3 days. We had to pass bunny girls from the wedding to get to lift. The noise was horrendous. I rang the hotel 2 days before we went to ask for a quiet table for our meal, this was arranged. However because of the wedding there was no such thing as a quiet table. The noise and flashing lights from the disco penetrated the restaurant. I have epilepsy, so you can imagine how difficult it was. This noise continued until 2am in the morning. Ken has Parkinson's and needs his sleep, consequently the following day was ruined as he was so tired. There were still wedding guests in the hotel drinking as much as the could and young children were running riot without any parental control. This stay had been to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary, instead of enjoying it I ended up crying. I complained and they offered 20% discount which is a drop in the ocean after the extras we ended up paying (service charge and vat on our meal for which we were only allowed £35 per person). I have also been told to contact yourselves about this.

It was only for one night Room was very dark, no real view out of window, always had to have lights on. Lucy in the restaurant was FAB.

Loved the elaborate rooms to eat, drink and relax in. I think more could be done with the gardens at the front. But having access to the spa was fab. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and a lovely room.

Nice stay

Staff were really friendly and helpful. The downstairs of the hotel is very clean and tidy and the spa/pool area was lovely. The room was a great size and the bathroom was very spacious. There were some stains on the wall in the room and the walls are paper thin so when the people in the room next door were arguing at 1.30am and then….making up the next morning we could hear everything - not ideal when staying with your mum for her 70th birthday! I text the number indicated on the Hilton Honors app to ask if someone could tell them to keep it down but didn’t receive a response.

The Majestic Hotel has been renovated very well by Hilton. The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious and had a fantastic view. The spa and pool area very relaxing, and good value for the price. The gardens are a wonderful place to have a drink in the evening sunshine. Location is fantastic and a lovley short stroll to the town centre. Would recommend.

The beds were too small.

Used to come with parents for the new year dos back in the 80's and thought it would be nice to stay again as an adult. Still a stunning building with original features. But i was disappointed with the room. Very dark and beige/ brown, no pictures, accents colours, just dark furniture that was marked and very worn, room was so hot we had to close the curtains the whole visit, i appreciate its an old building but a fan would of been appreciated. Carpets in room and the hall way very stained. Being gluten free i dont have great expectations for food, but the toast at breakfast was pretty awful, only toasted on one side and only at the top, warm gf bread is actually worse than non toasted bread. I think in this day in age it wouldnt harm to offer us something a bit more equivalent to non gf guests, sinage on the buffet breakfast would allow us to walk round and instantly know if its ok for us or anyone else with an allergy, rather than constantly having to ask a member of staff. I think being more inclusive would be nice.

I like the Majestic very much; I love the atmosphere. But I would recommend that someone from maintenance heat the jacuzzi at dawn so it’s warm for the early risers. Also the sink plug hole in the bathroom in my bedroom needed a good cleaning.

A fantastic stay at the Hilton. The hotel is in a good location within easy reach of everything. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and rooms were well equipped and clean.

It was absolutely red hot in the rooms and no air conditioning
