Refurbishment of hotel and room superb. Only problem lift not working , same in other blocks. Never saw anyonevtrying to fix them we with a baby in a pram in our party and on 3rd floor so hard work. Pools are cold even in Drago land, sea was warmer !! Entertainment very good. We have been on numerous occassiobs and updating of Esmeralda park is to a very high standard.

Clean room, housekeeping cleans and restocks room daily which was so nice to come back to! Beautiful resort, beach is very close and staff was extremely helpful! Parking can be tedious but it’s the way all over the island! They provided crib for us and the store right across the street has everything you need including some baby supplies!

Beautiful property, the beds were ok, not the most comfortable, everything else in the room was perfect other than having one day where our hot water wasn’t fully working. We knew this would be a family resort, and had adult only areas but the public beach and dining is full of other people with young children and it’s very busy and loud. I would come back if I bring my kids with me, otherwise, I would go with an adults only resort for a more relaxing experience.

Perfect location right next to a beautiful beach. Adults only pool in mid September was not that busy. Rooms were refurbished in May this year but already many scratches, doors not closing properly - it’s clear it was not the most high quality refurbishment. However sound proofing was great. We had Breakfast in our room rate which honestly was not great, and quite shocking in the number of options We enjoyed our stay as the hotel is extremely well located, but there are some gaps. I imagine in peak season the hotel is extremely busy.

Loved the adults section with the pool with a view over Cala Esmeralda. Breakfast buffet was excellent too.

Clean and modern rooms with balconies

After visiting a the hotel post renovation, everything looks beautiful, but unpractical, the pool shrank significantly and its impossible to enjoy without bumping into a child/adult. For babies/toddlers will be perfect, but not for 4+ as the big pool is now very small for the volume of guests. The new pool restaurant was ok but expensive. The kids show looked very improvised and repetitive. Even the DJ was distracted chatting with staff around him. The mail restaurant needs for staff, plates were pilling on the table without someone being attentive to pick them up. The staff that we recognised from our previous visit, really makes the effort to do as much as possible, but more staff is needed. Half board doesn’t include drinks, be aware, expedia does not advertise this. Luckily we got compensation after claiming this via chat.

The pool is to busy. Can’t move in there. The restaurant breakfast/dinner is to loud and could really do a with a refurb.

This hotel is in a beautiful setting in a picturesque cove. The room was well maintained, comfortable and spacious. The staff we met at reception, in the outdoor restaurant and cleaning our rooms were always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered a very wide choice of food options. Children enjoyed the play area. Didn’t like the very busy and crowded family swimming pool.

-For travelers who enjoy lowering their standards- Beautiful lobby, terrible experience. Check-in was slow and disorganized, rooms scattered across different buildings, and basic amenities nonexistent — no welcome water, no working toilet flush, no functioning TV remote without a maintenance saga. The pool bar served overpriced cocktails that took forever to make and tasted awful. Showers blasted water everywhere before you could even use the overhead, and the “shower gel” was so ineffective my 7-year-old son complained he still felt dirty. The final insult-No iron — unless you rent one. In 30+ years of travel, I’ve never seen that. If you want a hotel where functioning showers, drinkable cocktails, and wrinkle free clothes are “luxuries,” this is your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Missing soap when we arrived

We first entered our room on the night of our arrival there was a crib in the room we had not requested. Hair on the floor and a pink lipstick sort of smudge on the floor. Worst is that I noticed a small bug near headboard. Woke up with bed bug bits- classic three bites. On arms, wrist. Next morning they offered to exchange the mattress which would be the worst thing to do as this would lead to spread of contamination. They reluctantly offered another room in another nearby building. When I went to inspect the room it had not yet been cleaned, which is fine, but when I moved the night stand table there were many bed bug nymphs, same as my previous room. They reluctantly offered another room. This room was cleaner. And I reluctantly agreed but the stay was very stressful and had to be very careful with all belongings. Leaving them outside. At the end of the trip many new classic bed bug bites had developed.. coming back home was a big hassle to get rid of many belongings and “bake” all items. I have been home a few days now and I am still in fear. I hope it’s over. Pics of my wrist, other pics will not be attached as they are of other family members. On a much lesser note, very tacky that when you order the meal package they charge you for a glass of water or drinks during dinner. Very tacky cash grab is what it feels like. Dino park is very small and adult are charged- even higher rate than the child’s cost. Not worth it.

The design of the bathroom is awful, I’ve been to plenty of hotels and this was the worst. You couldn’t take a shower without the entire floor being flooded, including where the toilet stood! Also, I’ve never had to pay for use of an iron. I thought the 6 euro daily fee for an iron was ridiculous!

We had a fantastic week in Cala D'or. The hotel is in an incredible location. Reception staff were so friendly. Apartment was beautiful. We really didn't want to leave.

False marketing: the room we were given was nothing like publicized on the site. Management was dismissive and not willing to give us a reasonable solution: we were told the only option we had was that room that was a clear downgrade from what we had reserved. We cancelled our stay, but the hotel refused to give even partial refund of the 2900 euros we paid for our stay. Expedia also refused to give us any refund, even if it does not reflect the cancellation policy on the site. Expedia’s excuse was that the hotel refused even partial refund.
