The reception and staff are very courteous.

I am a Turkish-American female solo traveler (living in the USA) with 10 years of hospitality experience at Marriotts in the USA. I also worked at different hotels in Turkey. This was, without question, the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS. Here is why: 1. The hotel is extremely old and poorly maintained. I was shown three different rooms, and every single one smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I don’t have asthma, but I still couldn’t tolerate the level of odor. 2. The front desk staff was rude, dismissive, and arrogant. Instead of helping or acknowledging issues, their attitude was “take it or leave it.” 3. My assigned room was on the first floor. On a Tuesday night, loud bar/disco music started around 11:00 PM and continued for several hours. I later discovered there was a bar directly underneath my room. Sleeping was impossible. 4. The bathroom was in unacceptable condition: there was a cockroach trap in plain sight, the shower was very old and uncomfortable to use, and the door to the room didn’t close securely—it felt unsafe. 5. When I addressed my concerns to the front desk the next morning, the staff’s reaction was shockingly unprofessional. They showed no concern, admitted they knew about the issues, and essentially told me nothing would be done. Their dismissive attitude made it clear that guest experience is NOT a “priority”. Bottom line: DON’T JUST WALK—RUN AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

Good breakfast buffet! Ten minute walk to the train, which was clean and efficient.

It’s a unique location for Bagdat st and surrounding areas.

Fantastic location! The entire place was always spotless, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Everyone was incredibly accommodating — truly appreciated the hospitality!

The staff at this property are really nice. However, the rooms, hallways, lobby,etc need a major upgrade: carpets were in poor condition, showers not the best. The bedding was clean and location excellent. Also, there was an aroma that was sprayed through the hallways, etc that was a very heavy scent. This is our second time staying here two summers in a row and both times when we returned to our room the room was filled with a smoke smell that had entered our room through the vents.

Very happy with my stay. It is a 4-star property and has the amenities you expect from a 4-star. The rooms were cleaned very well every day. The bed was comfortable but a bit hard. It is very nicely located with much shopping and dining around. Marmaray station is close and easy to use for public transport.

The property had it all. From impressive art deco interiors, walking distance to the shore, welcoming and attentive staff, great breakfast selection, an amazing roof top restaurant with a stunning view of the sea, to proximity to many other amenities and restaurants. This location was top notch. This will be the hotel we stay in next time we visit Istanbul!

I stayed with them 2wice back in 2022 and this year 2025. Both times I was happy with their service, location and cleanness of the place. Their location is the best to walk and shop and their staffs are helpful and nice. Would recommend them.
