My partner and I were travelling for work and wanted somewhere cosy to stay after an event. We found Crossbasket Castle and booked a night. We were welcomed by Ester, who was fantastic—kind, informative, and happy to help. The room was very clean and tidy, with a gorgeous bathroom, a comfortable bed, and lovely pillows. We stayed in one of the Deluxe Hotel rooms (Not in the castle), and the balcony was spacious with a beautiful backdrop. We ate on the balcony both nights, and it was perfect. The grounds were beautiful to walk around, and our stay was so relaxing that instead of checking out and making the long drive home, we decided to extend our stay by another night. Once again, Ester was incredibly helpful. The cooked breakfast was delightful, and the buffet (fruit, pastries, yoghurt, and juices) has to be one of the best we've ever had at a hotel. They are currently building a new spa, which I'd be excited to visit. Because of this, there were some minor building works, but they were barely noticeable. I'd love to see the room service menu expanded, as it was a little limited, but other than that, I can't wait to come back.

The rooms and service were fantastic! The front desk staff does everything there, even valeting my car! The rooms themselves were elegant and more modern than I expected. However, most of the rooms are not actually inside of the castle which was kind of surprising to me. It was a little disappointing to my wife when she found out we weren't actually going to be staying in the castle. But we were able to get drinks at the bar inside of the historic building. The unfortunately do not have a pool or spa or really any other amenities other than a walking trail. It looks like all of that might be under construction for the future. Breakfast was incredible one day, not so much the other. The first day we ate early and maybe that's what made the difference. The second day we went toward the end of breakfast time and a lot of the food was literally submerged into the ice water it was sitting in. Also they were completely out of champagne and nobody wanted to replace it (I didn't even want it but the people sitting beside me asked multiple times.) So, mostly, everything was great but for the price and for somewhere that calls themselves five-star I have to knock a little bit off for the negatives.

My wife and I took our newborn son to Crossbasket in order to celebrate his arrival. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were all very personable and it felt as if they already knew why we were there. They also went the extra mile with nice little personal touches like a note of congratulations at afternoon tea and the manager even came over to introduce herself and offer the hotels congratulations. The grounds are stunning and immaculately kept with great attention to detail. Our room was fantastic, as was our lovely dinner in Foverans restaurant. We've been fortunate enough to stay in some of Scotland's most reputable hotels but the customer service here was the best we've experienced. I really can't find fault with this place and with the introduction of the Lodges and Spa later this year I think it will take it to another level. I can easily see it becoming one of the most popular places to visit in the west of Scotland.

I made a last-minute booking to stay in the Crossbasket Castle hotel and was delighted I did so. It's immediately obvious from the attention to detail, in the rooms in particular, that it's not part of a chain. Between the castle and the new building, at around fifty rooms, there was a nice level of activity, but it wasn't busy or crowded. The new accommodation (forty rooms) struck me as a cool mix of art deco and style borrowed from the castle. The grounds are beautiful, parking really well laid out, and the whole offering gives provides boutique hotel feel. If I were to return to Glasgow on business, I'd be very inclined to stay here rather than in the city.

What a wonderful experience! We had a castle room and it was absolutely beautiful! This was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in for so many reasons. We dined at Trocadaro’s and would definitely recommend! Loved the live entertainment and the food was exceptional! Every team member we interacted with were warm, engaging and professional. We felt well taken care of from the moment we walked in the door. The castle itself is enchanting and exceeded expectations. If you’re considering staying here it will surely be the highlight of your vacation!
