Our stay was disappointing. Despite the issues of cleanliness of the room and building we also encountered customer service issues. While not all issues could be resolved, the lack of towels for showering and needing the iron that we called for twice throughout or two night stay could and should have been resolved. The staff themselves were pleasant to deal with and understanding of the issues, promising to take steps to remedy. Additional problems include: When we arrived to the building of our room (different than check in building) it smelled of marijuana. Our room was damp and smelled musty. There were yellow stains on the ceiling and blood stains on the wall. The bathtub was stained and there was hair in the sink. We also found hair and dirt in the bed on the linens. Very unlikely to stay again or recommend!!

It was nice, it's a nice place for a quick getaway. I liked the restaurant on site, everyone was very friendly.

The service is very poor.No cleanliness.No housekeeping coming to clean the room,collect the garbage,refill the shampoo and shower gel.Also smelly pillows and comforters.Every time need to go to reception to ask for attend the issue.I wrote down the list of items to attend after my 1st day stay.I came

It is always disappointing when a room with a kitchenette has no utensils to allow you to use the facilities available.

Bad customer service…. No lift…..hard to talk in English…. Bad room ….. toilet pot not working…. Will never go there!

We book Queen bed with kitchen. People smoke inside the room and also some people smoke marijuana. So whole building smoking smell. Ice machine is not allowed to use. I cook in the room and some people complaint and some people punch the wall to make noice. So we cannot rest well. So I feel stress and anxiety. I don't recommend this hotel.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at Hotel Newstar in Montreal. The establishment was advertised as a hotel, yet the actual experience resembled that of a low-grade motel. From the moment I arrived, the hallways were filled with the smell of cigarette smoke. An employee openly shared concerning information—that the property previously had issues with bed bugs (though reportedly resolved), and that the housekeeping staff is so overworked that they are unable to maintain proper cleaning standards. My room, available at 4:00 PM, still had wet floors. It smelled like smoke, and the alternate room offered smelled strongly of urine. I had no choice but to return to the original room. Due to these conditions and the negative reviews my children found online, they were too uncomfortable to stay with me the first two nights. When they eventually joined me, we discovered a fresh bloodstain on a portion of the bed I hadn’t checked earlier—an undeniable indication that the sheets had not been changed. I brought this to management’s attention, and the only offer was a 10% discount. I also requested clean sheets before heading out for the day, but when I returned late at night, I found the dirty bedding still on the floor and no replacements on the beds. The front desk stated there were no housekeeping staff available and handed us new sheets to make the bed ourselves. This experience was unacceptable, unsanitary, and extremely dishearten.
