This is my second stay at a Mercure.
I booked two rooms, and one was upgraded. Thank you.
The hotel is strategically located, with a wide selection of food.
However, upon check-in, I wasn't informed that parking in the lobby was only permitted for Accor members. I only learned this from security on the second day of my stay.
I arrived late at night, and the security guard directed me to valet parking. The next morning, I asked for help getting my car to move my luggage. After I finished, I wanted to park in the lobby. There was a vacant parking lot, but the attendant wouldn't let me park there, saying I had to reserve a spot.
I parked in the basement, which is not very spacious because it's shared between Mercure and Ibis.
Parking in the lobby should be on a first-come, first-served basis, and if you have to reserve a room, it's best to inform me at check-in to avoid any misunderstandings.
On my last day of my stay, there was hair in the steamed cake at breakfast, which was quite disturbing. I reported it to the staff, who gave me a new one. However, since I was already full, I took the steamed cake to my room. However, the front desk staff told me that I couldn't bring buffet food into the room. I was aware of the rules, but out of respect for the staff who replaced the steamed cake, and since I was already full, I decided to take it to my room to avoid wasting it. The previous day, another guest had brought rice on a plate and a drink in a glass to the room, and they allowed it. I knew this because they happened to be staying on the same floor as me, but the staff remained silent and didn't reprimand me. Are there special guests that distinguish between what is allowed and what is not?
