Wonderful hotel with many pools and 2 great restaurants. Special thanks to the great staff.

We been going there almost once a month, if not more for years. You would think people we absolutely remember and recognize would treat us better. We have a mediocre service. Where they one a tip for just opening the door… They started to kick us out exactly at 12;00 where we actually had another day stay (which, no matter how many years we been loyal to Copal, would not refund, as we booked the wrong day). The mattresses and linens were great, now they have been changed. My husband and I woke up with out backs hurting.

This was the best vacation I’ve had. The stay at the hotel was more than I expected the food was amazing the staff were beyond helpful generous and genuine. I had absolutely no problems nor did I had to wait for anything. The guys at the desk got me anything I asked for. They did an amazing surprise breakfast for my wife. Decorated the room with professional structures made of ballons, chocolate strawberries, roses and a dinner in the most amazing new location . The restaurant servers went out of their way to ensure my wife and I had halal steak for her birthday dinner, getting us extra items from different restaurants to combine into one big meal. The place is absolutely gorgeous the scenery from the appartment was amazing . The pools were well kept, temperature was cool and refreshing walking around under all the trees, their cats were super friendly and loving, room service was great. Copal in Tulum is probably the best hotel for me. I wouldn’t go anywhere else honestly. I felt safe and everyone treated me like they were my best friend. Never told me no . The guys at the check in did way more for me than they needed to . It was absolutely perfect .

This hotel is stunning. The rooms with private pools are very spacious and well maintained and clean by the staff. The front desk staff are exceptional in their knowledge of Tulum and tourism service providers, in fact one of their recommendations led to three amazing days of cenote diving for me with a private guide which was followed each day by a massage from an excellent masseuse. And I also particularly appreciated their recommendation to look at the stunning sunsets.

My room was huge, cleaned to perfection every day, the private pool was good for an evening dip, and a massage at the spa relaxed and refreshed my body each day. And all the staff, especially the front desk staff were welcoming knowledgeable and helpful when I need anything.

Great stay

One of the best hotels ever. If you want peace and quiet- good food, beautiful grounds, safety, and the most outstanding staff ever- you will love Copal. Ivy, Johnny, and Victor at the front desk were nothing short of amazing and friendly. The hostess/waitress Paola, was super helpful. She found us a driver that was half the price of the others. I cannot tell you how much I loved this hotel. You must go experience it for yourself. We are returning with our family!!

It was nice pleasant

I had a fantastic time in Copal. They had complimentary parking but you could also rent a bike if you wanted. I ate in the gastrobar for breakfast and lunch, food was very good and prices were normal for what’s in the area. I stayed in a 1 bedroom jungle view room. The hotel itself is gorgeous, very peaceful, the staff is amazing. We mostly dealt with Johnny and he was so nice, gave us great restaurant recommendations, and overall a really welcoming presence. The kitchen comes equipped with basic kitchen ware such as cutlery, plates, cups, pans to cook in etc. We got a deep tissue massage from the healing spot, it was fantastic. The masseuse was very friendly and listened to what you requested, the price point was also very reasonable unlike many other spas that are overpriced. The hotel is located near the main avenue, you have a 7/11 and gas station less than 5 minutes away so that’s very convenient, and you have a supermarket about 7 minutes away. Getting on the main avenue is less than a 10 minute drive so it’s perfect if you plan on taking day trips you’re very close to the center and can pretty much go anywhere without much added commute time. The hotel is located within a 30-40 minute drive from the airport. The only negative I have on the hotel is that I think the maintenance on it could be a bit better. The shower and faucet has a lot of water build up, the kitchen drawer liners are a bit stained, there are some dents on the doors, etc. Small details.

We really enjoyed our stay at Copal and I would stay again. The private rooftop pool was really special and the jungle views were amazing. The apartment was well equipped but could do with some more cutlery and a kettle. Before going, I was concerned about the area not feeling safe or being loud with development but this wasn’t the case. The area felt safe and convenient for getting to other parts of Tulum - I saw many women walking their dogs alone after dark. There is work going on in the area but I didn’t hear it and it didn’t affect Copal because of the jungle trees hiding it from view- I’m usually sensitive to this sort of thing. The roads and paths were fine and walkable -even with a pushchair. Nearby park for kids & on street parking readily available outside the hotel. We stayed with our toddler and he loved the main pool downstairs because it had shady parts. If you prefer sun, there is also the rooftop pool - or a private rooftop pool if you choose those rooms (which I thought was well worth it for us with a toddler during nap time). Small gym was helpful. You can rent bikes from the hotel but we didn’t. Overall, I would recommend Copal; it was actually my favourite hotel from our whole trip in Mexico (5 hotels in total). The only thing I would say, at the end of our stay my partner heard someone mention that we could visit Copal’s sister hotel for free. Not sure how true that is but it would have been nice to know since our final hotel was nearby to it.

Every thing I ate in both restaurants were amazingly good our room was so nice and comfortable all the staff are friendly and helpful loved this place

Loved the calm and peaceful atmosphere here. It was well kept and very clean rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful! We will be coming back to stay again!
