— What You Can Expect —

Visit Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, home to Tasmania's largest 24/7 Wildlife Rescue Service with a team of volunteers dedicated to helping protect endangered species. Rest assured that your entry fee goes toward helping Bonorong rescue animals, as the sanctuary is entirely funded by admissions.

Bonorong is unique because its primary aim is to assist wildlife back to full health so they can be reintroduced to the wild. As such, in your time at Bonorong, you'll discover the story of each animal you encounter.

Hosting animals that no longer exist in other parts of Australia, Bonorong contains an ever-changing cast of survivors. Here are some of the animals you may meet at the sanctuary:

Forester kangaroos
Tasmanian devils
Wombats
Koalas
Sugar gliders
Eastern quolls
Sulphur-crested cockatoos
Yellow-tailed black cockatoos
Tawny frogmouths
Randall and Luigi the echidnas

[Daily Tours]

Public tours are available with all entry fees. With the guidance of the sanctuary's keepers, experience up-close encounters with wombats, devils, and koalas. Learn about the unique personalities of Tasmanian devils and watch them snack on a bite.

You'll also learn more about Bonorong's conservation efforts, and how you yourself can play a role in protecting Tasmanian wildlife.

Tour times: 10:00 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm & 3:30 pm (45 mins per tour)
