The staff are very friendly and helpful; they also happily helped in taking pictures for us. The places we visited are also very clean and there's not much people around, probably because it was a weekday and we arrived very early in the morning. The Cloud Forest also has an amazing dinosaurs experience and the staff are immersed in their roles. Overall, good experience here!

The best things to do at Gardens by the Bay

Spread across 101 hectares of reclaimed land in the heart of Singapore, here are the top experiences you shouldn't miss during your visit:

The Cloud Forest conservatory

The absolute highlight of the indoor attractions. Step into a cooled, mist-veiled glass dome dominated by a towering 35-meter-high indoor mountain covered in lush, epiphytic vegetation. You'll get a panoramic view of rare tropical highland plants as you stroll along the elevated Cloud Walk and Treetop Walk, all while listening to the thundering roar of one of the world's tallest indoor waterfalls.

The Supertree Grove and OCBC Skyway

The defining icons of the Singapore skyline. Stand beneath these massive, futuristic vertical gardens that rise up to 16 stories high and are covered in over 160,000 bromeliads, orchids, and ferns. For a thrilling perspective, take the elevator up to the suspended 128-meter-long aerial walkway to enjoy a bird's-eye view of the entire gardens and the glittering Marina Bay Sands complex.

The nightly Garden Rhapsody show

For the most action-packed and magical evening experience, time your visit to catch this signature light and sound display. Watch the monolithic Supertrees burst into a synchronized dance of vibrant colors and dramatic lighting choreography set to a rotating musical score. It is best enjoyed by lying down flat on the grassy lawns beneath the trees at 19:45 or 20:45.

The Flower Dome conservatory

An architectural marvel that holds the Guinness World Record for the largest glass greenhouse in the world. This massive, columnless dome replicates the cool, dry climate of Mediterranean and semi-arid regions, allowing you to walk among ancient olive trees, bizarre African baobabs, and a shifting centerpiece display of seasonal blooms that changes throughout the year.

Floral Fantasy

An interactive, whimsical experience located right near the Bayfront MRT entrance. This indoor attraction seamlessly blends artistry with technology across four distinct, magically themed garden landscapes. You'll wander beneath a dense canopy of cascading, suspended fresh flowers, explore cave-like rock formations, and finish the journey with a multi-sensory 4D ride that mimics the flight of a dragonfly.

The Floral Fantasy Gift Shop featuring MY LITTLE PONY

A whimsical shopping experience that serves as the perfect finale to your floral journey. The gift shop has been transformed with a magical MY LITTLE PONY makeover, filling the space with vibrant displays and charming, playful touches inspired by the world of Equestria. It is the ultimate spot to pick up exclusive, colorful merchandise, themed collectibles, and unique souvenirs to remember your trip.

Top photo hunting spots

Capture memorable shots directly in front of the thundering waterfall inside the Cloud Forest, using the mist and soaring greenery as a dramatic backdrop. For a spectacular wide-angle perspective, stand on the Waterfront Promenade at twilight to snap the glass biomes glowing against the city skyline, or head into the Supertree Grove at night to photograph the illuminated structures framing the moon.

The best time to visit Gardens by the Bay

Finding the right window to visit Gardens by the Bay can be the difference between a peaceful garden stroll and navigating a massive crowd. Check out the best timing to plan your trip:

Early mornings (05:00 - 09:00): The "serenity" window. Arriving at dawn is your best bet to experience the massive outdoor spaces, like the Supertree Grove and the Waterfront Promenade, in absolute peace. The air is at its coolest, the crowds are non-existent, and you will share the paths primarily with local joggers and early-bird photographers.
Late afternoons (16:00 - 18:30): The "golden hour" transition. This is the prime slot if you want to experience the best of both worlds. You can explore the chilly cooled conservatories—the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest—to escape the peak afternoon heat, then step outside just as the sun sets to catch the dramatic twilight views of the Marina Bay skyline.
Night owls (19:30 - 21:00): The "action" zone. If your main goal is to witness the gardens fully illuminated, this is the window to hit. You can settle in for the spectacular Garden Rhapsody light and sound show at the Supertree Grove (which runs nightly at 19:45 and 20:45), though you will be sharing the magic with the peak evening crowd.
Mid-day escape from the heat (11:00 - 15:00): The "indoor sanctuary" period. When the Singapore tropical sun peaks and the outdoor humidity becomes intense, make a break for the cooled conservatories or Floral Fantasy. These indoor attractions are heavily climate-controlled to a refreshing 23°C to 25°C, making them the ultimate midday refuge—just remember to pack a light cardigan!
Weekends and public holidays: This is the "high surge" zone. Friday through Sunday evenings, alongside local school breaks, bring a massive influx of both tourists and locals. Ticket lines can snake down the concourse and the elevated walkways can get congested. If you are visiting during these high-traffic times, secure your tickets online beforehand and aim for a weekday morning instead.
The rainy day strategy: Sudden tropical downpours are a staple of Singapore life. Don't let a thunderstorm ruin your itinerary—while the outdoor gardens will be off-limits, the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and Floral Fantasy offer massive, fully enclosed indoor spaces where you can stay 100% dry while exploring spectacular floral displays.

Practical tips

Secure your tickets online before you arrive. Do not wait to queue at the walk-in counters, as the lines for the popular cooled conservatories can grow incredibly long during peak hours. Booking your tickets ahead of time allows you to skip the ticketing line entirely and scan your digital barcode straight at the entrance turnstiles for a seamless, hassle-free entry.
Time your visit around the evening light and sound show. The iconic Supertree Grove truly comes alive at night, and checking the daily schedule for the Garden Rhapsody show is a must. Plan your itinerary so you are settled comfortably beneath the massive structures by 19:45 or 20:45 to watch the trees put on their spectacular, choreographed musical light display.
Travel light and secure large bags before exploring. Navigating the elevated mist-veiled walkways inside the Cloud Forest or the bustling paths of Floral Fantasy is much easier without heavy baggage. Utilize the electronic lockers available at the Golden Garden or The Canopy between 05:00 and 02:00, but remember to carry S$2 notes as the machines do not accept other denominations.
Bring a light jacket for the cooled conservatories. While Singapore's outdoor climate is intensely hot and humid, the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are strictly climate-controlled to replicate chilly Mediterranean and tropical highland environments. Throw a cardigan or sweater into your bag so you stay comfortable while exploring the indoor attractions for a few hours.
Stay hydrated by bringing a reusable water bottle. Walking across the expansive 101-hectare outdoor gardens can be physically demanding under the tropical sun. Instead of continuously buying single-use plastics, take advantage of the free bottle-filling stations located at the Bay East Visitor Centre, Supertree Grove, and Active Garden.
Keep your credit cards or digital payment options ready. While you will need physical S$2 notes if you plan to use the electronic luggage lockers, the rest of the park's ticketing counters, gift shops, and shuttle services lean heavily into digital transactions. Keeping your cards or local e-wallets handy will make grabbing souvenirs or catching a quick ride on the Bayfront Shuttle much faster.
