What Others Are Saying

It’s such a cooling weather inside the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. Since we visited during this Covid-19 pandemic, we needed to pre-book the time period before entering these two. Both are recommended to be visited for family with kids

We get a quality time together in there

Catur S. U. - Sun, 22 March 2020

Well, first of all, the place is sooo big! Had a hard time walking to get to the places we would like to visit. But when we arrived at Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, all the tiredness was gone. Cloud Forest and Flower Dome are must visit places when you come to Gardens By The Bay. Also, if you come in the afternoon, wait until the Garden Rhapsody show! One of the best shows I’ve ever watched. Moreover, it’s FREE!! Had an amazing day at Gardens By The Bay. I will definitely come again.

    Gardens by the Bay

Since its opening in 2012, Gardens by the Bay has been a frequent sighting on social media that it is dubbed one of theworld’s most Instagrammed gardens. The Gardens’ Must-See Attractions

Spanning over 101 hectares of land, Gardens by the Bay offers a mix of free and unpaid attractions that warrant multiplevisits. If this is your first time, though, you may want to start with the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. These massive conservatories are covered with glass panels all over that allows for the plants to receive abundant sunlight and earns them the title of the world's largest columnless green houses.

Take a stroll around the meticulously landscaped gardens of the Flower Dome, where it is spring all year round. Listed as the largest glass green house by Guinness World Records, the Flower Dome houses exotic plants and flowers from 5 continents, including ancient-looking Baobabs native to Africa.

As you step into the Cloud Forest, you will be transported to a tropical mountain with a 35-metre tall waterfall flowing from its peak. Meander through the misty Tree Top Walk and Cloud Walk to enjoy the view from different elevations, and make your way to the mountain top where curious carnivorous plants are on display.

Fans of fairy tales, watch the dreamy setting of your bedtime favourites come to life at Floral Fantasy. This conservatory will charm you with its artistic arrangements of plants, foliage, and flowers divided into 4 thematic realms, aptly named Dance, Float, Waltz and Drift. Walk underneath a floral ceiling onto a forest where you will be greeted by woodland creatures and a giant sculpture made of dried and preserved flowers.

Venturing outdoors, you will find yourself in awe of the Supertree Grove. The attraction, which served as the filming location for the Hollywood blockbuster CrazyRich Asians, is perhaps one of Singapore’s most easily recognized icons. More than 200 species of tropical plants are grown on the 12 futuristic structures that make up the grove. Just as plants rely on the sunlight to photosynthesise, the Supertrees are ingeniously designed to harvest energy from solar cells.

While the view from the forest floor makes a great backdrop for your photos, the sights from the canopy are not to be missed either. Take in a bird’s-eye view of the Gardens and its surrounding Marina Bay area from the OCBC Skyway, which is suspended 22 metres above the ground.

Best Time to Visit Gardens by the Bay

To make the most out of your visit, spend the afternoon at the indoor gardens, such as the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and Floral Fantasy. The air-conditioned conservatories will provide a pleasant environment for a walk as well as a refuge from the sun. After that, head to the OCBC Skyway to see the sunset over the skyline, and get back on the ground to save your spot for the night time light and sound show Garden Rhapsody.

Throughout the year, the Flower Dome sees some display changes corresponding to the seasons and festivities. Starting this March, you can experience the Japanese tradition of hanami or flower viewing attheir special sakura exhibit. Admire the delicate pink colours of cherry and plum blossoms while posing alongside Japanese ornaments like red torii gates and rickshaws. The mostexciting part is, you'll get to enjoy it with one of Japan's cutest characters: Hello Kitty!
