The tour which starts from Medan to Bukit Lawang passes through rubber and oil palm plantations. It takes 3,5 hours to reach Bukit Lawang Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where visitors can see orangutans being fed in their natural environment. However, you must be fit enough as you need to trek for 45 minutes to reach the orangutan feeding ground.

Don't forget to wear nice and suitable shoes as you will continue the trekking for 3 hours through the tropical primary forest with an experienced local guide to see orangutans, siamang, Thomas Leave Monkeys, long tail macaque, gibbon, different kinds of reptiles and varieties of birds before returning to Bohorok.
