-Itinerary introduction-

Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park

Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is located in the Yokoyukawa Gorge in the Joshinetsu Plateau National Park. Because it is surrounded by forest cliffs, steam and boiling water will emerge from the cracks in the ground in the cold environment, hence the name "Hell Valley". Hell Valley is covered in snow for four months of the year. Jigokudani Monkey Park is famous for its large number of wild Japanese macaques (also known as snow monkeys) who love to soak in hot springs. The habit of macaques soaking in hot springs comes from imitating humans. In the early years, macaques would enter hot spring baths used by humans. Later, due to safety and hygiene reasons, the park built a dedicated hot spring bath for macaques.

Togakushi Shrine

Togakushi Shrine is a sacred and spiritual place located in Togakushi Mountain, which is filled with rich nature and thousands of years of history and culture. When you walk among giant sequoia trees that are over 400 years old, you can see the changes in light and shadow reflected by the sun in the forest, which is very magical and beautiful. There is Suishinmon Gate on the approach to Okusha Shrine. Among the green surroundings, the red Suishinmon Gate is very conspicuous.

Sainokawara Park

With beautiful walking trails and abundant flora, it is an ideal place to relax and get close to nature. Experience the gift of nature with a free foot bath and feel the tranquility and healing brought by nature.

Kusatsu Onsen

Kusatsu Onsen is famous for its beautiful natural environment and extremely curative effects. It has been famous as a famous hot spring for healing and improving health since ancient times. "Yubata" in the hot spring village town has hot spring water flowing all year round. It is known as the "heart" of Kusatsu Onsen and one of the area's most iconic landmarks. In the blue-green spring pool, the spring water sparkles. In winter, the steam from the hot springs fills the air, making it seem like a wonderland. The Kusatsu Ski Resort also attracts a large number of tourists in winter. The ski resort has a free bus running between Yubata and the ski resort!
