It's definitely a good deal! The price includes a round-trip ticket on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and a souvenir of one Sawaya jam (choose from a designated variety).

Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, one of the largest resort-style shopping malls in Japan, is an attractive location with approximately 240 stores scattered across a vast site of approximately 260,000 square meters, and is a 3-minute walk from the south exit of the station.

We also recommend a stroll around Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza, a place loved by Japanese people (20 minutes on foot from the north exit).

Course Features

Please gather at Tokyo Station, where a staff member will give you your Shinkansen ticket and an information sheet, and provide a brief explanation (in English).

After receiving your Shinkansen ticket from the attendant, you will be able to begin your journey as an independent individual.

This plan is an individual travel plan that allows you to use reserved or unreserved seats on the Shinkansen.

Reserved seats on the Shinkansen will be given priority, but as this is a very popular Shinkansen route, if the reserved seats are full you will be provided with unreserved seats.

Estimated time for reserved seats: Outbound Shinkansen departs between 9:00 and 10:00, return Shinkansen departs between 15:00 and 16:00. For details, please see below.

Information about JR Karuizawa Station and exchanging "Sawaya Jam": JR Shinkansen trains arrive at Karuizawa Station on the 1st floor platform. The ticket gate exit is on the 3rd floor. When you exit the ticket gate on the 3rd floor, the north exit is on the left and the south exit is on the right. If you go left after exiting the ticket gate, you will find the souvenir shop "Shinanoya Karuizawa", inside which you will find the "Sawaya" store.
