About Chiang Kai-Shek Shilin Residence Main Building Admission

Chiang Kai-Shek Shilin Residence was built based on the foundation of the guesthouse constructed by the Taiwan Provincial Government in 1949. It is a simple, practical, two-story building with a slanted roof. Structurally, it combines wood with reinforced concrete. The building was expanded while Mr. Chiang was still alive. In 2006, it underwent restoration and the project was completed in November 2009.

• Opening Hours : Tuesday - Sunday, 09:30-12:00 (Last Entrance at 11:40); 13:30 - 17:00 (Last Entrance at 16:40)

• Closed on Mondays, Chinese New Year (New Year’s Eve to the 4th day of Chinese New Year), Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, regular maintenance time (two weeks every September) and under special conditions. Any adjustment will be announced on the official website, please visit the website before planning your visit.

• Due to the capacity of the historic landmark, visitors will be divided into groups with time slots to enter when 100 visitors are inside.

• Concession rate is available for student with International Student Identity Card. Please purchase the ticket on spot at Chiang Kai-Shek Shilin Residence.

• There are no lavatory facilities in the Main Building. Please make use of the lavatory in Chiang Kai-Shek Shilin Residence Park. Thank you for your cooperation.

• In cases of extreme weather conditions, the itinerary may be changed or the tour may be cancelled.

• Touching cultural relics in the Main Building is prohibited.

• Eating, drinking, chewing betel nut and gum in the official residence is prohibited. Smoking is banned whether in the house or in the garden.

• Please do not use any video camera, cell phone or other electronic devices in the official residence.

Child Policy:

• Children must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
