Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao
- The Palace of the Island (Dinh Chua Dao): Listen to the history of Con Dao and some outstanding historical events here.
- Phu Hai Prison: This is a prison built by the French colonialist, very famous and long-standing. This prison camp is recorded by many historical books, where there is a rice milling cellar, a special cell, and a breaking-up rock area.
- French tiger cages - Phu Tho camp: Through the reconstructed models of the vestiges left, you will understand why this place was considered as "hell on earth". The prison system of prisoners (tiger cages) here is solidly built like a maze. This is the focal point of Con Dao prison, where prisoners during the war endure various forms of painful and brutal physical torture.
- American tiger cages - Phu Binh camp: This area has rows of narrow and damp cells, built in 1971. If the "French tiger cages" were places where prisoners were physically tortured, this was the place for mental torture.
- The isolated cow shed: During the French and American invasion, this place was used to raise cows was also used to torture prisoners. Prisoners sent to this area were all soaked in cow dung cells.
- Mrs. Phi Yen temple (or An Son Temple): is the resting place of Mrs. Hoang Phi Yen. Mrs. Phi Yen is the concubine of Lord Nguyen Anh. The spiritual stories told in the land of Con Dao, besides the stories about Vo Thi Sau, there are also thrilling stories about Mrs. Phi Yen. When visiting this place, the tour guide will tell you a little about her legend and a story that word-of-mouth up to now: “Wind take cabbage tree to the sky, Persicaria odorata stay earthly to bite the bullet”.
