Some travellers or tourists might have never heard of Trang provinces before. But Trang is also one of the cities that has interesting and beautiful landscapes like any other popular attractions. A city with green forest, blue sky and deep emerald sea -- who wouldn’t fall in love? So we planned a low-budget trip to Trang for 3 days and 2 nights, relaxing your mind and charging up with nature. Let’s see what we have to offer!
Travelling from Bangkok to Trang
We booked a cheap flight to Trang with Traveloka application and got the best price available! Because we turn on the function called ‘Price Alerts’ which will notify you of the price of a ticket from each airline. We just chose the destination, date and time of the flight and price that we wanted, and let Traveloka do the rest. With a cheaper ticket price than we have expected, we have more budget for our trip now!
First day of a trip in Trang
We got up earlier than usual to get to the Don Mueng Airport in time for our flight to Trang. We booked a morning cheap flight with a cheaper ticket and we would get more time to travel too! The flight took only 1 hour and 30 minutes.
When we arrived at the airport, we got our luggage and contacted the staff at the rental car service that we had booked beforehand. We would be driving around Trang for this trip as it is easier, faster and more convenient. Also, worth the money when travelling with friends or family. You can also book the car before the travel with Traveloka application. The booking process is easy and there’s a lot of choices to choose from.
After we got the pre-booked car, we headed to the first restaurant for our breakfast. ‘Kopi Dimsum’ has served breakfast and coffee for many years. Eat some hot and fresh buns and dumplings. The shop is located near the Trang train station so you could not miss it. It is a popular place for locals to come and sip a cup of coffee in the morning.
We ordered a table full of breakfast dishes like congee, toast, fried eggs and dim sum – so that we could try anything and fuel our stomach for the trip today. We all loved the food here; they were tasty and reasonably priced.
Trang train station is an attraction near the restaurant, one of the hottest places for tourists to take photos. You would see the station standing out from the rest since the building is in yellow and brown. The classic style of building, tracks and sign boards made them spots you can take a picture with.
Not only the platforms and rails that you can actually board the train, there were also ancient items and historical information. Another cute spot to take photos is a made-up sign of the station ‘Love Station’ – don’t forget to include your loved ones in the photo.
After that, we went to our hotel to check in and drop the bags. Namthip Residence Hotel is a small place yet fully equipped with accommodations. With Air-con, TV, fridge, hot water and the location is near important attractions of the city, a perfect place to stay the nights.
We took some rest and got ready for an evening sight-seeing walk. About 4 pm we left the hotel and started exploring the town. Trang city architecture is unique and beautiful as always since the old time. The city reserves and protects the architecture of the city, which attracts tourists from all over the place.
We walked along the city and spotted pretty arts on the walls. It is called ’Trang street art’, a street with many arts, drawing and painting on the wall. The paintings represent all the attractions of Trang, like this Emerald Cave, or a landscape of Para Rubber Trees, which were first planted here in Thailand.
The sun has set and it’s time to find something to eat. We travelled here during the weekend so there is a ‘Trang Walking Street’. Full of shops along the street for us to shop. Eat local foods and shop some handmade crafting items as souvenirs.
Good food, full stomach, so we headed back to the hotel and prepared for the trip tomorrow.
Second Day of trip in Trang
Waking up to a beautiful morning so we hoped it would be beautiful all day, because today we would go to the beach! First, we went to ‘Koh Mook’ by boarding the longtail boat at Khuan Tung Ku pier.
We bought tickets and hopped on the boat, 20 minutes later we could see the deep blue sea and an island with white sand of Koh Mook.
After taking pictures on this peaceful island and relaxing ourselves, we went to the diving spot. The first island of this diving tour is the famous ‘Koh Kradan’. We knew that the landscape and scenery of the land was impressive, but underwater was also breath-taking with a school of fish and coral reefs. We dived tirelessly and absorbed in this magical underwater world.
There is also a beach zone with pine trees – a good spot for taking photos as well. Truly an island with lots of interesting spots.
Another landmark that is in our bucket list is ‘Morakot Cave’ or emerald cave. A highlight of the south that you should not miss. You have to go under the mountain which is like a cave and get to spot the emerald water in a big cave. However, you cannot go into the cave by boat but need to slowly swim there instead.
After that, We went through the cave and saw the beauty of nature. We headed back, boarded the boat and went back to the hotel. We were a bit tired from today’s adventure so we were going to rest early. Even though we were exhausted, we were happy about the trip – emerald water, white clean sand and beautiful sky, worth it!
Last day of the trip in Trang
The third day of this trip and we still cannot get enough of this trip. Last day we chose to go into the forests and breathe in the fresh air. ‘Ton Tok Waterfall’ is the right place to relax. Not only the beautiful beaches and oceans that Trang has to offer, but forests and mountains are impressive too. Visit here in the rainy season to watch the waterfall and dip into cold water – freshen up better in the heat! Being surrounded by greenish forests is really something.
After relaxing in the water, we moved on to another fall called ‘Ton Te Waterfall’. The highest waterfall in Trang. You can walk up the hill about 1 kilometre, along with flowers and plants. There’s also a natural walking trail and signs explaining about the nature of this place.
We burned out from swimming in the water so we went to the restaurant for our lunch. Rimtarnchomthung shop is an open-air restaurant, located in the middle of rice fields. Enjoy delicious dishes and beverages while looking at glorious fields.

Make sure to visit when there’s still rice plants in the field, because if it’s harvesting season, the view might not be as beautiful as it should be. You can sit facing the field, hang your legs and relax with the atmosphere. We ate up before we went to the airport.
And this is the end of the trip in Trang, 3 days 2 nights with a low budget travelling but visit most of the important places. We took a cheap flight, reasonable food and accommodation. So, no worries about money and just enjoy your trip and forget about city life for a while.
