It’s my first time visit melbourne and City square is a great way for your first stay. It close to every thing and the man at the reception is very helpful. The room is not that new but It have everything you need, it can put my 2 large luggage and still have a space. Airport skybus pick-up and drop-off are about 2 minute walking, it so easy if you have a large luggage.

Room was shabby, but the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Clean linen with a facewasher (wow!!) and good toiletries. Heater worked well; perhaps TV could be looked as as the screen had a bluish picture. Overall, I had a great stay.

Stayed here several times before, this time 10 nights. Friendly staff were available when needed. No issues with checking in after hours. Everything I needed worked, eg. Tv, microwave, fridge. Bed very comfortable and single room big enough for one person. Location great for shopping, eateries, banks, pharmacies, public transport and many tourist attractions like Botanic Gardens, Shrine, Federation Square, Arts precinct etc. I look forward to returning.

This motel is so convenient. The tram is right outside the front door and McDonalds is downstairs for 24/7 coffee 😂 everything I needed was walking distance. I liked the convenience

Other than being in a central part of town, nothing else was good about the hotel. No laundry facilities on sie. Closest laundrette 2 kilometres away. Poorly maintained and untidy. Staff unhelpful

The building was very run down and our room had no kettle or tv remote the room was very pokey no fly screen on the window . And you couldn't open the window either . The bathroom was nice and no spoons or forks or knives and one glass.

I liked the location. Central and close to trams and trains. Easy to enter after hours, too. OK. The room was of "average" cleanliness. Dirt between corners, dusty on smooth surfaces. Not much room to move around in. The bed didn't fit into the wall recess properly, making it awkward to sit up in bed. No table, no cutlery, only a cup, two glasses and a small saucer. Not even a breakfast bowl! Air-con/heater was somewhat old and a bit noisy. Suspected leak in toilet bowl fitting - but the shower was good, and the shampoo and soap were nice, too. Front desk reception was not particularly warm. The only words spoken by the young man behind the counter were, "Checking out?" when I was doing that. A bit noisy outside, but this is to be expected on one of the busiest streets in Melbourne. And I am grateful for having a roof over my head, considering the unfortunate, homeless people virtually right outside the hotel. (Room 529)

It was awful! The thin doona did nothing again a Melbourne winters night. Arguments between staff and guest at midnight right outside your door kicking them out due to "no ID" is scary because how did they even get to the point of having a room without ID? Renovations somewhere the building causing walls to vibrate with hammering and filling at 10pm. Scared to even pull the curtain back in the bathtub as it gave off "hiding a dead junkie" vibes. When you walk in and the 1st thing your kid does is insist on texting her other parent saying she wants to tell them she loves them in case she doesn't make it out alive then that should give you a pretty good impression on what a seedy place this is that likely caters to a pay by the hour type service

I never saw any staff. The motel looked shabby and there was a homeless person sleeping in the corridor in the morning. However, it was a nice big room with a bathtub, and the motel was very conveniently located. For the price, it was all right.

When looking at this property, I didn’t quite believe the lower rated reviews, and I wish I had. The room I was in did not feel clean. There was dust everywhere, only the bed, toilet and sink truly felt clean. There were issues that were very obviously overlooked by the staff: the remote was broken and the batteries would fall out (it was placed in a way that you would only know if you picked it up), the bathroom door was broken/off the hinges, there was mold on the ice tray in the refrigerator. Overall, this and the insane amount of dust in the window made me feel less than comfortable (along with the graffiti in the elevators). My stay was fine otherwise, but I would not book here again.

If your looking for a cheap hotel that you aren’t bothered weather the rest of the hotel room is clean or tidy this a ok spot for one or two night any more night I recommend a better hotel.

Rooms are an ok size and cheap. Only power outlet to charge my phone was in the bathroom. 3 in main room didn't work. No fan in the bathroom, so a hot shower steamed the room. Windows open, but won't stay open without putting something in the gap. Terrible noises from the alleyway outside from 6am. Might have to pay a little more elsewhere from now on.

This hotel needs to be shutdown. It is absolutely filthy and not fit for human occupancy. The tiny room had not been cleaned properly in YEARS! Thick layers of dust in the room, copious amounts of mould in the bathroom, a shower head that was non-functioning and broken draws, were the main issues that affected me during my two night stay. There was also a domestic dispute that occurred in the hallway outside my room. I heard disgusting language, followed by a person slamming into my door in the early hours of the morning. It was terrifying. No after-hours staff on site. No amenities. No house-keeping.

DISGUSTING!!!!! Don't stay here. Dried spew on the walls. I switched rooms to a room that had dust 1inch thick behind the door and dust piles in the wardrobe room. Place needs to be refurbished from the inside. Elevators are also dodgy. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
