It’s my first time visit melbourne and City square is a great way for your first stay. It close to every thing and the man at the reception is very helpful. The room is not that new but It have everything you need, it can put my 2 large luggage and still have a space. Airport skybus pick-up and drop-off are about 2 minute walking, it so easy if you have a large luggage.

I had a comfortable bed and a warm shower. Essentials. Extras: tubes of toiletries, a wine glass, clean crockery and linen. However, TV was hard to operate and pixated, but I got my ABC and SBS channels eventually. I was not game to turn on the heater as it was dusty and very old. Several power points did not work. The room was quiet and my stay ended up being very pleasant. Thank you.

This was a very frustrating experience. I did not get the message until a day later about how to get into the hotel. I was therefore forced to make an international call to gain access to the building. The room was dirty, broken handles, carpet needs to be replaced, and needs serious repair. The WIFI did not work even though I tried many times on both my computer and my phone. I also would have liked to left my bag for the day after my stay but there was no way to get a hold of anyone unless I wanted to make another International call. I do not recommend staying at the City Square Motel.

While the price was good/cheap ($99) the room itself was not very clean. Dusty and there was some rubbish left in the bathroom sink. The location is excellent. I feel a deep clean was required. The room itself was quite unique being in an older building and could use even a slight upgrade with nice decor would make a difference.

There were no glasses, knife, tea spoon, tea and coffee, were not filled up
No tissues. Laundry and ironing facilities were not available . My room was not serviced when I had left the sign out
I did end up with a tea spoon and steak knife after making a complaint. The excuse was that they were fully booked. I have stayed there multiple times including only 2 weeks before and I was satisfied with my accommodation. Last trip was terrible

Room was dusty and old, had graffic above the door. Doors in hotels should be fire doors, it was broken. A/C was old and blew directly into the wall, room barely cooled down. Toliet leaked from the bottom if full flush was used. Found two old used qtips by the nightstand. Tv didn't work. Staff were unfriendly. Definitely putting this motel as a don't return.

Bed was comfortable and shower pressure was perfect. Building was without hot water on first night of stay but staff had it fixed by the morning. Superficial structural damage to the carpet and doorframe near bathroom left room feeling run down. TV reception was non-functional. No room service was provided, nor did staff inform if such an option was available. More communication in this regard would be appreciated. Due to the unfortunate timing of events during my stay, room prices were far above what one would consider a fair nightly rate, however, at a lower rate, its a fine budget option for a few nights.

Definitely the second worst mattress and base I’ve ever slept on. Should be sent to landfill immediately. And the room was grotty. Needs a serious deep clean.
Apart from that, staff good, location excellent. They sent a helpful text message, explaining how to get in and where to find the key, way ahead of time.

Room was absolutely filthy never dusted or vacuumed - bed and towels were clean - room was completely ran down - shower curtain covered in mould - there was no toilet paper in dispenser however found one on sink - aircon only worked with curtain open and it was very noisy being on swanston street and to top everything off the TV didn’t work - fuzzy reception, it was basically like staying in a seedy hostel in the best location in town, lastly no reception desk after 5pm had to call 3 times to finally get them to send details of door codes etc, if it was renovated with a safer elevator it would be amazing with the location.
