A bit on the dirty side, clearly an old building underneath everything. Not especially secure entry. Swanston St is pretty noisy in the evening. But hey, it’s cheap.

The hours reception is "open" are too short and often unstaffed. The staff were Chinese with English obviously being their second language. That's not their fault, but Australian travellers should not require a translator to receive basic services in Australia. The night manager is rude and difficult to understand especially on the phone. The room cleaning staff were polite, and their English was much better than the night manager. One of the three elevators is not working but there is not an out of order sign. The middle elevator is covered in graffiti and stinks from a joint jammed in the wall. The stair wells are a filthy mess. The doors and walls are covered in graffiti. Rubbish is strewn about the floors and stairs.

There was an AUD31/day coupon for the carpark. The flat parking cost was AUD30/day. I parked the car for 36h inside the designated carpark. When I wanted to exit, I used 2 coupons, as instructed by the hotel staff. The total cost was AUD60. At the end I had to pay AUD20. I called the intercom, the parking staff did not care and asked me to pay. This is totally unacceptable. I want to be reimbursed immediately. I have all the necessary tickets and photos with me to prove it. Please contact me ASAP!!!

Checked in, wasn’t given the after hours code to get in. Had to make a phone call to get that. Apparently there are two codes to get in and was not given the after hour’s code to get into the building. There was no toilet paper and was told that it will be left outside the door, sadly it was not, we bought our own. There was disgusting graffiti in the lift as well as exposed wires with tape on the ends. The drawers in the room were broken. The tv bracket was bent down and wasn’t sure if it would fall off the wall. Other than that, the bed was comfy.

The man at reception was very unpleasant. No hello just said ‘ID and debit card’ should not be in the job. Room was unclean and you could barely see out the window they were that dirty. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again

The room smelled musty, the walls were dirty and grimey, the carpet was covered in dirt and mould ,there was mould in the shower and the TV didn't work.

The bed was comfortable but the room was grubby and poorly maintained. The TV didn't work properly and the only chair to sit on was basic and uncomfortable. No staff after 5 o'clock made it feel a little unsafe returning alone in the evening.

Too bad for hotels

Staff didn’t want to be there, really unhelpful, at some point the rooms should be renovated.

The room was not family friendly and was well below our low expectations. When we advised the hotel staff we were not even afforded an apology.

Just basic accommodation at a good price in a great location

Seamless check-in and check-out. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. However, the toilet seat was missing, the bathroom exhaust didn’t work and the TV didn’t work. That said, I got the most amazing price. Now I know why! But given the knock down price, I really can’t complain.

Convenient location BUT!!!! Checked in late so no staff to speak to. The room smelled of mould. The blanket was filthy. Only two pillows and they were so thin we had to fold them over to sleep on them. But the worst thing was the noise!!! All night there was random yelling out, sirens and arguments from the street. We were on the second floor so the windows obviously haven't been upgraded to double glaze! 7 am in the morning, a diesel generator started up. Never again.

Room was tidy and clean though the bathroom has a bit of mould. Good value regardless

Room neglected. Dust build up on carpet at edges of room. Dust not wiped out of glass-fronted cupboards. Dust and dust moths under bed. Airconditioner beeped when plugged in but did not work. TV obtained signal through the internet. I managed about 1 minute of free to air news before the message of No internet connection appeared, and remained. Toilet paper holder was empty, so I had to open a new roll, but could not work out how to get roll into the holder. Just because it is a room with a single bed does not mean it can be ignored.

Room was OK, ample size for 1, bathroom grouting wasn’t as clean as it could be, check-in was seemless and key return obvious, I used the fire stairs to exit once, they were filthy
