I've stayed here on and off for the last 10 years, since it was new in fact, and it is always consistently good. The cleanest hostel I've stayed in, and the managers make sure to chat with every guest, even if it is just to ask where they are going for the day. I will always return here in preference to other accommodation. Good open plan space too. Not too many people staying when I stay, may be the timer of year? Not homey though, if you are searching for that.Recommended.

The person on reception when we checked in was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The showers were good. Unfortunately other people were not considerate and the kitchen was a total mess when we went to use it in the morning, despite signs asking for dishes to be washed. We could only find one spoon, clean or dirty - but not the fault of management.

I think with Backpackers accommodation, one should not expect luxury. However, when you pay a significant amount for a room, and have a room with two singles beds pushed together, a shelving unit, and a small couch - that is a bit steep! No bed linen, just the bare basics. I would have expected more for that price. Also, I booked a room online and was given another. The room I had booked via Expedia had been given to somebody else. Overall, an average stay.

Over priced for a shared dorm room. Heaps of security cameras without any signs. If the host focused more on having a presentable place and repairing things that are broken instead of smoking pot and getting cash from visitors wanting a shower I am sure it would be a great place to stay. You can camp there and if I had of known that is what I would have done.

Has great potential - located in a cluster of services and with an interesting layout and a diversity of room formats. However, it is rundown and dirty. Toilets not working, BBQ not working, fridges struggling to cope, kitchen grubby, stoves out of the ark and not enough toilets. Disappointing - could be so much better, and wouldn't take much to fix it.

It is a new place, age ING rapidly due to not the best upkeep. Yellowed sheets, grubby rugs. On other hand, price was right and good place to stay before Maria Island. Don’t be put off, nothing terribly wrong (or right) about the place.

Affordable but there is never anyone at the office, which makes check in a little more complicated. It’s reasonably clean but little things like lack of toilet paper in one of the restrooms and no climate control in room make it less desirable

I arrive early on a rainy afternoon cold from cycling. I'm given a paper pass code and directed to a single room booked in advance. I find my allotted room is not only dark and the bed unmade but it has no heating. I choose not to stay as I need to get warm: there was no heating. I explain and request refund saying it does nnot meet my expectations. I am told no heating is advertised on Wotif, nor are the beds advertised as made in advance. My refund is refused but I leave anyway. Find a lovely room in town with a seaview for only a few dollars more.

Reasonable rates and convenient location. The mattress was stained and pillows were worn out. Clean bedlinen and towels were provided. Shared bathrooms could be cleaner.

We arn't backpackers so it was a big difference for us going to a backpackers, but some of the backpackers left the community kitchen in quite a mess with food lying around everywhere. But we enjoyed our room and the price was quite cheap.
