Being mid-island was perfect for us. We rented a moped for our 5 day stay, and traveled to Hamilton (which is very close), to St. George, and the Navy Dockyard. And having a private beach on the ocean side (rather than a bay) was awesome. The beach was never overcrowded during our stay. And the quality of the food at the in house restaurant was excellent.

Cons: Older property was outdated, our tv didn't work for 3 days. Bed hurt me after a few nights. Pros: nice pool and beach! Super nice staff! Over the top service from MO and Doreen, Amy at the front desk was awesome and Daniel and Gregory and the wait staff in the restaurant were just the best! Super clean property. I must tell you about the tree frogs. They put on a small opera at night. You'll see what I mean. But you get used to them and then they become white noise. The roosters will wake you early, so no alarm required. I don't blame the property for frogs or roosters as I came to learn they are island wide so just get used to it. Write it off to "island charm". This is not a giant resort. It is not near activities. BUT, if you want to relax and just "chill" and enjoy the BEST views then this is your spot. It does grow on you.

The property is very far away from a lot of main attractions. The front desk staff was not helpful at all and there was no running water for two entire days and the only option was offered was to take a shower by the pool. I also put the do not disturb sign on my door, but housekeeping and the water boy continued to knock multiple times and open my door despite the sign. The water boy even opened my door attempting to get in saying I am dropping the water, thank God I had the lock and chain on the door and I asked him why he is opening my door when the do not disturb sign is on and the chain is on the door and he didn’t respond, when I asked the front desk why this is happening they said they don’t know and they did not no when the running water would come back on and the attitude of the older blonde whit woman with the limp was horrible as if she was overworked, underpaid and bothered. I even requested taxi service twice and a taxi came an hour late made me almost missed my excursion and the other days he didn’t come at all. Stay in Hamilton or somewhere closer to the main attractions, because this is not it.

Beautiful location with amazing views and gorgeous beach Rooms were clean and updated Delicious food at restaurant Disappointed with rude staff at the bar, restaurant and reception. Woman at bar was rude when we were told by reception to order food from her as the restaurant was closed due to a private event. She refused and said she couldn’t help us. No notice from hotel regarding closure of restaurant to guests with no other food source available. Restaurant staff were rude if you didn’t give them additional tip on top of the already build in service fees Reception tried to double bill me for my room as I had booked for me and my 17 year old daughter but reception perceived my daughter as an adult and told me she is charging me a second adult fee upon arrival I had to argue with her that the travel agency booked my daughter as child based on her age. Staff are horrible at this hotel

Great location right on the ocean for a reasonable (for Bermuda) price. Facilities are a bit dated, but clean, nice & safe. While we were there they seemed to be understaffed - our room, and that of other arriving guests, was not ready at check-in time and was not so for 1 1/2 hours. Noticed the same issue for other guests on other days. Restaurant is OK, but a very nice grocery store is just a short walk away, and since the rooms have fridges, you can do some budget dining. Coco Reef is not luxe, but it is a good value given the high cost of most beach-side hotels in Bermuda.

Had water leaking from the ceiling and mold and bugs in our room. Got moved to a temporary room for one day and told a permanent solution would be made the next day. We were finally given a new room around 6pm after being out of the temporary room by 9am. This hotel is run down and needs a major update. Tried to get a partial refund, but hotel refused to reply to Expedia. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. We were not the only ones to have room issues while we were there.

Room is updated and nice but it still had a few small annoyances. For example, the sliding door had no screen so we could not leave it open and the patio furniture was cheap and old. The bathroom fan did not work so a shower left the entire room humid and wet. The lobby is niceish but the pool area, hallways and grounds are very dated. Beach looks pretty but it was unfortunately raining during our stay so I can not say for sure. Not a great place to stay in bad weather; there was nothing to do; the restaurant and bar had very limited hours.

Review Coco Reef Resort My adult daughter and I stayed 7 nights at this beautifully located beachside hotel. Its greatest strengths are the spectacular ocean views, lovely private beach and abundance of sunbeds, meaning it never felt crowded. The beach also connects seamlessly with Elbow Beach and Coral Beach, making for wonderful daily walks. The swimming pool looked inviting, although the water was still too cool for us in April. Staff in the dining room and bar were friendly and polite, and the local lady who cleaned our room was excellent throughout. Sadly, Reception fell far below the standard expected at a hotel of this price. At 79 years old, I was curtly told there was nobody available to help with our heavy luggage to and from Block 4, the hotel’s furthest building. We eventually found, loaded and pushed a trolley ourselves up the slope to Reception. Despite a 3pm check-in, our room was not ready until 6pm, yet no apology, refreshments, beach towels or goodwill gesture were offered. What made this particularly difficult to excuse was seeing the same older Receptionist later leave Reception unmanned to personally chauffeur two young, fit male journalists around the hotel buggy during King Charles’ visit, laughing and joking as she escorted them to their rooms. That contrast in treatment sadly marred what could otherwise have been a very enjoyable stay.
