Staff was great, food was great the only complaint is paying to park at a hotel you're paying to stay at and 12 bucks a night to boot. But a great old hotel.

The customer service was about the only good thing with this property. Checking in I was asked for my email and since then my inbox has been initiated. I had to increase the heat in the room to 81 degrees just to take the chill off . Parking is unsafe .

The room we stayed in (# 660) was clean and comfortable. Staff were always courteous and friendly. The buffet breakfast in the morning was probably the best I've ever had at a hotel. The egg station was a nice touch that my wife took advantage of. Well done. Not accustomed to having to pay for parking at a hotel so I wasn't too happy about that. Nor is the location of the parking facility ideal for Hotel guests. Next time I stay at the Hotel I'll know to drop off my bags first then go park the car. I suggest you put something on your Website that speaks to that and to clearly show (in a picture or video) where the entrance is on Benton street. I had to call the Hotel to find out if it was self-park or valet parking and if it was self-park WHERE DO YOU PARK?.

The hotel is nice and the overall experience was pretty good. What can be improved is the checkout process. I was in Kitchener for my son’s volleyball tournament. Probably the majority of the hotel guests were coaches, athletes and families. Last day of our stay we had to checkout early

Old property needs to be upgraded. The bathroom very very small, no separate shower, just a bathtub with a shower head which makes it not easy to get in and out for senior people. Never ending narrow ugly corridors. Poor signs to find elevators. Parking uncomfortable, along walk when busy. Only good point is a very good buffet breakfast with excellent service.

I liked the recreation facilties in the basement. I found our room a bit dirty - glass in bathroom was not clean, rug in main room looked dirty, mini fridge kept freezing our food. Linenes and towels were good quality

The room felt a bit dirty. The rug in the main part of the room needs cleaning. Beds a bit too soft but bedding and towels seemed good quality

I was originally attracted to the bowling and arcade entertainment but the arcade is very run down. Many of the machines do not work. I know it is run by a third party, but please don’t advertise something that you don’t have quality control over if it’s going to be a huge disappointment. The restaurant breakfast buffet is reasonably priced with lots of nice options like an omelet station and fresh crepes. The staff was really nice and helpful.

Stayed one night with family. Great pool. Amazing breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good location. Older building is showing its age. Bedding smelled strongly of bleach. Poor sound insulation between floors.

Does the HVAC work properly? Yes, indeed - kept my room at exactly the temperature I like, and operated almost silently. How's the water? Also excellent - double shower heads make this a winner as well. ALL hotels should be able to tick those four boxes - clean, quiet, HVAC and water - and the Crowne Plaza in Kitchener does those very well. Add the very friendly, professional, and responsive staff to the list - these folks are obviously proud to be here, and go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and cared for. But - with those necessary comforts out of the way, what else does a hotel need in order to break through the two-star barrier and compete in the VERY competitive mid-range business hotel segment? A complimentary breakfast buffet goes a long way. $20.00 for the buffet at the Crowne Plaza is too much. Free parking on the premises is also a strong draw - but at the Crowne Plaza, you pay $12.00 per day - to park in an unheated garage in which I never saw more than six other vehicles parked. The neighbourhood feels very run-down. I saw more than one business with boarded-up windows, and there is nothing within walking distance to provide any form of entertainment. That's not the hotel's fault - but the Crowne Plaza is tired, and showing its age. My first room stank of cigarette smoke. The second was clean, but a broken light switch and very dim lightbulbs throughout could use a fix. Dented elevator doors don't lend confidence. Time for a renovation.
