It was just what I wanted and needed

Beautiful new room

Very small room so after bed you just can stand . Toilet is too small that you can not even sit properly. It's combined toilet and bathroom . Bathroom is tiny can't event stand properly. Properly is in Very bad in condition and very old. Cannot recommend.

The room was clean, tidy and very nicely set up

We had a wonderful stay at the Harbourview. Very friendly owner. The very old room was immaculate as far as cleanliness goes.

This is an older property in need of some repairs.

We enjoyed our stay at the Harbourview Motel. It is simple accommodations, but clean, quiet, comfy and convenient. Enjoyed the nearby walk along the waterfront and loved hearing the train go by.

QUIRKY MOM&POP LODGING--CLEAN, COMFY, AND CHEAP: The good: Easy to find and truly has a closeup view of a working harbor, which I found fascinating. Host was friendly and helpful; made me feel at home right away. Immaculate room: clean carpet, pristine bathroom, brand-new spiffy subcompact kitchen, good window blinds, and very quiet at night, no noisy heater/fan (yay!). If you get lucky, a freight train will roar by, just a stone's throw away from your back window, hauling coal down from the distal end of Cape Breton and through the interesting waterway. Freight trains in the night have always been cool, so I count this as a bonus. DRAWBACKS : Very spartan furnishings. There is no inner door lock to prevent somebody with a key from entering, so carry your preferred security device. Poor lighting: One simple overhead fixture and at the bedside, a small, very bright, non-dimmable light. Great maybe for (very) minor surgery; not so good for ambiance. Glitchy hower controls. MORE GOODIES: Easy peasy wifi connection and--did I mention?--probably first runner-up in my personal competition for world's most comfortable motel bed. One last thing: As I write this, in March 2025, these rooms appear to be brand, spankin' new. Hopefully, mom&pop will keep the place in good shape, and hopefully, guests will take care of it too. It's a gem!

GREAT FOR THE PRICE

Nice view

The salsa between each room are paper thin. The property is also 100 feet from railroad tracks. Late at night the freight train horn wakes you up and the room shakes as the train goes by.

Great location great price

This property is in an okay area, rooms are decent size for what you pay. Bathroom and bed were great. Only thing that wasn't okay, stains in the carpet, paint missing on parts of the window, baseboard heater rusty, parts of the room scratched, and for how much time it would take to fix, should be painted. There is no dining room/cafe, its filled with stuff.

Very good location to stop and rest before you head the road again. Very good for the price , friendly staff/owner

The room was clean but dated. The office was very untidy. The pictures did not reflect the property. I was ok with the room but first impression was very disappointing and so I wouldn’t have stayed there if I wasn’t already committed. I thought I’d have a nice view of the water but you couldn’t anywhere near it. The person I dealt with was friendly but didn’t see him at all in the morning if check out. The office was still closed at 830 am which I thought was weird!

good place to stay for 1 night

The place is old, there is no restaurant, the room was very very small as compared to the photo advertised, The advertised photos shown appear to be from the grand opening when ever that was and do not represent what it is like today. I would not recommend this motel ( I believe the couple that checked in when we did looked at the room and left) .

Owners were amazing. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. We left stuff by accident in the room and they are mailing it back home for us. Bed was comfy
