Motel Bo (Camrose)

There were insects in the tub, the front desk representative could not speak English and required someone to interpret on the phone. My travelling companion had dog hair throughout his freshly presented sheets and I was charged an additional night without my consent.

I have stayed at this motel several times over the last 2 years when I have had heat or water issues at my home! Usually my stays are good but I stayed there from April 8-10 and there was women’s clothing left in the bathroom, residue from a spill that wasn’t wiped up, floor didn’t look like it was mopped and second night I was there( last night) I was having a bath and I had the bathroom door open and someone entered my room not once but twice!! Both nights there was a lot of banging and screaming the first night!!! I don’t get much sleep either night and had to be up at 5 am for work!! Have had most of my stays pretty peaceful and not really bothered by a bit of uncleanliness but the last 2 nights gave me an off vibe (especially after someone entered my room) and not sure if I want to stay there again when that was my go to when I needed a warm bed and hot shower!!! Not to impressed!!!!😞

Staff is very friendly. Rooms are big, with a microwave, a mini fridge, smart tv and wifi.

The property requires significant, maintenance. The room was okay, but it was dusty and looked like it hadn’t been used for quite some time. The staff, however, were good, very helpful, no doubt about that. Good location.

Where do I start? At check in, there was a lady who spoke no English so I had to wait for another lady. She finally arrived and said I didn't have a reservation. I showed her my confirmation from Expedia and she finally found it. While waiting for her I noticed the ground floor reservations all laid out with the key cards attached. I also noticed the fee per night they paid. I had paid DOUBLE on Expedia from what it was showing on the forms. When I questioned why I was paying double all she she said was, I should have called her directly instead of going through Expedia!! We were on the 2nd floor, no key card, had an actual flimsy key that you had to physically lock when you left so if your hands were full you needed to put everything down to lock or unlock the door. There was no deadbolt even though the sign on the inside of the door stated "for your safety, engage deadbolt and door safety latch". It was VERY sketchy around there and the ordinary household door knob didn't give us much peace of mind!!! Around 4 PM on Friday, the balcony from our door down was filled with young men drinking beer and smoking pot. There is NO sound proofing in the walls or doors so it sounded like they were right in our room with us. TV didn't work, bottle of conditioner in the bathroom was pretty much empty, plastic cups had no plastic bags on them (I just threw them away), fan in bathroom sounded like a tractor. Long story short, I do not recommend this place! It's not worth 1/4 what we paid

Good enough for the price. Was hard to use pumps for soap etc. Tub extremely slippery. They used to supply non slip mats years ago when other owners ran it.

The boiler system heating the rooms need repair bad. Zero sleep

Check in was good! Staff were friendly. Room was dirty in some places like the walls and floors. Floor was sticky in spots and the walls had brown spots all over them. Bathroom smelled like stale pee. It was a long drive in the storm so I just wanted to relax. Bed was clean and comfy. I washed some of the walls.

I booked a stay at this hotel and few minutes after my booking, I arrived at the hotel to see that it was closed. I called the number placed at the entrance severally but no one answered. I had to go & rebook another hotel for the night. I am still waiting to get a refund for the night that this hotel left me stranded out in the cold!

A simple affordable solution to an overnight. No frills. Quiet and clean.

Friendly staff

Check in was quick and easy. Our security lock was broken and the cleaning lady came in unannounced at 9:45.

Parking easy. Room clean. No TV. No internet. No coffee.

Pleasant staff. Beds were comfortable. Clean bed sheets, towels and toilet seat area but everything else was dirty. Room is in need of a deep clean. We found dirty sock, latex glove, beer bottle caps, large dust bunnies along floor boards and behind bathroom door. Killed a handful of unknown bugs. Kept my shoes on. Shower curtain in dire need of bleaching or replacement. Programming on TV relies on internet and kept buffering so unable to watch any programs. Wifi in room was quite poor. Coffee was not available in rooms, nor in reception area, despite presence of coffee machine. The place has potential but needs much higher cleaning standards.
