Absolutely amazing hotel great views over the lake to the hills especially from breakfast. The staff were so helpful booking us on trips recommending what would work. Even pointing out one trip may not be ideal due to the Chinese holiday so you can tell they are impartial. They arranged drivers for us to and from the hotel greeted us from the cab we had the greatest entry to China. They even put out flowers and fruit out for us as we were celebrating our anniversary which was so sweet. The location was also awesome we loved guilin you are a few minutes from the pagodas and cross the lake and you are at the most beautiful shopping streets in traditional Chinese buildings. You are an easy walk from any hills you want to climb and the Palace as well. You are also right by the night Market and bigger shopping streets are behind you. In terms of food and drink you are surrounded by well ranked restaurants but we didn't try them all just one mela at an Indian. There were loads of really welcoming bars just by the hotel as well which we were sadly too jet lagged to try but the area felt very welcoming to tourists and geared to deal with English speakers which was great! Thanks, Debbie

Amazing staff that would do anything to help and an unbeatable location. Rooms were incredible (and always somehow smelt terrific) and breakfast was not perfect but a good effort. Didn't give a perfect score because the WiFi was very hit and miss (more miss than hit), rooms sometimes got incredibly cold and were a bit odd. For example, the lightswitch was nowhere near the bed which is really strange for a hotel. Also, the room had a kettle but zero tea making facilities - was I supposed to drink hot water? For a tea house I had very little tea. However I would totally stay here again. The pro's outweight the cons and I doubt theres a better hotel in the area.

The reception staff were amazing: very friendly, went out of their way to assist, good English. The hotel looks like it has has some renovations done recently and probably needs a few more, however the character of the place is pleasing. The restaurant had an awesome view over the lake so some great photo opportunities. The hotel is an older Chinese style, and more than suitable for anyone to stay. Two things disappointed me: no cupboards or drawers so I literally had to live out of my suitcase, and while cups and kettle were supplied there was no tea, coffee or utensils provided - I was given some tea when I asked.

A must-stay! The beautiful traditional Chinese decor throughout the hotel provides you a rare, luxury cultural experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The best of all, we enjoyed the picturesque lake view from the fifth floor dining room. The Aroma Tea House is highly recommended!

Due to flight delays, we really didn’t really get to experience everything this charming place had to offer - but we were so grateful that the staff waited up for us, and put us in an upgraded room when we finally made it (8 hours late). We had a very comfortable sleep, and a delicious breakfast in the lovely top floor dining room (had a delicious bowl of noodles and a custom omelette, as well as a big cup of a delicious local tea). I wish we had more time there. Would love to come back!

Hotel is filled with amazing traditional Chinese pieces of art snd artifacts. It has a lovely sense if old world charm. The view from the dining room is spectacular. The aesthetics of my room really gave me a good sense that i was in China which i would gladly take over any standard luxury hotel. The hotel reception staff Sabrina, Linlin and Ada were extremely helpful and genuinely friendly. They were the main reason that made my stay at the hotel and Guilin was a very happy experience. Cheers from Canada!

Hotel staff was beyond excellent and very helpful during my stay with my family. They offer excellent day trip tours to tourist attractions which makes your life a lot easier with the planning. The hotel is small, but makes you feel right at home and the staffs would carefully explain the surrounding area of the hotel at check in. The night view of the lake right opposite hotel looks really beautiful, an evening stroll is perfect for this. Best to return to hotel before 10pm if walking, as the lights around the lake starts to switch off after this hour at night and area gets really dark and quiet to walk through. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Incredibly cute and charming inn in a fantastic location - it's right across from the Rong Hu Lake, which is lit up at night with walking paths and a pagoda where older locals gather in the evenings to play musical instruments and sing. The hotel is also located close to a main commercial street, but just far away enough so that it's still fairly peaceful and calm. The service is very friendly. The hotel has great architecture and design, very unique and traditional art. There's free breakfast with a beautiful view of the lake and Karst mountains and an outdoor courtyard with a koi pond as well as balcony on various floors for hanging out. The only minor complaint is that there are mosquitos in the room (I got bitten 3x on one hand during the night). If they can address the mosquito issue, the stay would have been perfect!
