The property kind old with very bad cigarettes smell and not clean, the staff working in the front desk wasn’t perfection at all, not even give us the wrong infor of the taxi when we are waiting, and also lake of knowledge.

Location is very nice. Staff is awesome!

Room design is chic and eye catching even though some room conditions are no longer top notch (decaying door frames, faulty toilet door). Clean and good sized room, very comfortable bed. Breakfast spread was not the biggest but decent, even though it’s the exact same items for both mornings we were there. Was stuck inside the bathroom due to faulty door mechanism but the team reacted swiftly and professionally, and excellent service recovery from the team. Overall a good stay.

Great location at bund but you need to pay a big extra for bund view rooms. Room is smaller than average. It is bit out of dated.

We stayed one night. Overall great experience. Great location. Minutes walk to the Bund. Across street from the financial center and 15 minutes to Yu Garden. Staff were professional and helpful. The restaurant had a great view and food was very delicious. A nice gym facing the bund. The room is clean; although a bit old. However, the bathroom is very spacious.

Has a returning guess over the years the hotel needs a little renovation.

Hotel is fine but albeit a bit dated I feel. Not a far walk to some malls and Bund/Nanjing Road. *Not sure if the bar Char is run by hotel but if it is they need a new manager as his attitude is terrible and is the reason I won’t stay again. He pretty much made it his mission to try not let us in bar, even though we were staying guests with friends and also a dinner reservation. He needs a attitude adjustment ASAP

The views and amazing

Brilliant location, fabulous sized rooms with beds that are like a cloud - slept super well. However, reception was cold and unhelpful, for an international hotel - very little english help. Infact, it was only on the last day that we found out where to get breakfast that we had paid for but never got!

I have been staying at this hotel since it opened. It was my favourite hotel in Shanghai. The location the decor the amenities and service. BUT this trip it completely changed. No paid a high price for the room. I felt like I was in a cheap Chinese motel. They had trays of toothbrushes at reception as there were ZERO amenities in the room. The bed was hard as a rock! The restaurant all Chinese dishes, staff didn’t speak English -!: gave me wrong directions to a site. CHAR was terrible! They forgot how to cook a steak and charged a fortune!

Unfortunately, the pool had been closed for 2 months but we weren't informed prior to our stay. There was a memo at the check-in counter but nobody pointed it out when we checked in so we were left a little disappointed when we turned up at the pool only to find out it has been drained for months.

1. The hotel is uniquely located by the river. 2. The hotel is located south of Nanjing East Road. To reach the more scenic part of the Bund, you'll need to walk for about 10min north along the river (it's all concreted along this part). 3. The hotel used to be an office building, therefore, while some rooms (I booked the river view room) have river facing windows the actual surface area of the glass is small and they is obscured by window brackets. Don't expect floor to ceiling panoramic views and don't expect to have a clear view from the bed. I cannot speak for the more expensive rooms though... 4. The breakfast buffet is small and they didn't have baked beans (criminal in my opinion). No egg counter/station. The ready cooked scrambled and fried eggs were terrible. There is an orange presser that you need to use yourself if you want fresh orange juice, other juices were from cartons. The almond croissant was amazing, proper freshly baked pastry that was crispy where it counted and soft on the inside. Choice of cereals was good, including two types of homemade granola (not chunky enough for me though). 5. Access to the hotel by taxi is very convenient. 6. The room itself (sorry for the lack of photos) was nice, especially the bathroom area. The decoration style is classic Chinese and tastefully executed but the sofa has a rigid bamboo back which is not ideal for lounging on. Bathrobes were super soft, towels were not. 7. Wonderful room much better than the regular hotel rooms. Good location at end of Bund.

The location is great. The room is very clean. The overall lighting tends to be dim. The food choice is below average. But the bar and the view are excellent.

I like proximity to the Bund, the Top floor view...but music inside bar is too loud for conversation.
