With limited Chinese we managed to have a fabulous 8 night stay in Beijing. This hotel is close to the subway which is very cheap, efficient, easy to navigate and only a few stops away from the main sights of the city, if you have children 120cm and under they are free (they don't go by age for all admission fees they go by height). I downloaded a translation app which helped a little but mostly it was pointing and smiling with xiexie at the end :). The buffet breakfast was good, many chinese delights and a great egg station, we always managed to find something to fill us up for the day ahead. The pool and hot springs was a lovely way to relax after a days sightseeing, you have to swim with a cap and can buy them there, I wanted to get a massage but ran out of days. The concierge were very helpful and I met one that speaks better english than I do Chinese, he organised 2 day tours to the Great Wall for me with a private driver as there was 2a2c ages 6/8 which made it easier for negotiations. There is a water filtered tap in the room to fill water bottles which is great, they also give you 2 a day. There is a nice Peking duck restaurant on site and if you are looking for local food if you go around the corner to the Marriott they have a row of good cheap options available on the outside, we especially liked the noodle one where you pick what you want and they cook and add soup yum. I found all the staff very pleasant, friendly and would recommend this hotel. Value for money.

Reception not friendly or helpful at all. No tourist info and hardly anyone spoke any English whatever. Shower had a very poor flow, more like mist. Nice lobby and room was good size but a bit tired/shabby.

It looked really nice in the photos on the website, It was presented as good as it could be at the time, However for me it's the little things that make a big difference, Firstly, Have at least one person at the reception desk that can speak some English, Secondly, The carpet in the elevators is old & worn & tatty, put some new carpet in the elevators, it is one of the first things every customer sees, it won't cost much, there is only 4 to do! Thirdly, Replace the clearly worn out carpet in the room, Fourth, Clean the black mould from around the edges in the bathroom, it would only take 10 minutes, Fifth, Don't have broken furniture in the room, if a chair is broken then get it fixed or remove it from the room, Asides from the issues above it was a pleasant stay & the breakfast buffet was quite nice!

We enjoyed our 14 day stay in a Superior room. The room is about 40 m2 but almost half of space is occupied by a very large bathroom and the living area can seem a little compact. The room was well equipped and very clean with good wifi. The staff were friendly and helpful, The daily servicing and cleaning were also very good. The hotel spa was an excellent welcome after a day of sight seeing. The breakfast buffet was OK with enough local and Western choices. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Jianguomen metro station. There are also bus routes 52 to Tianmen Square and 20 to Qianmen shopping area.

Air conditioning did not work even though they supposedly "fixed" it - therefore a terrible night with little sleep. It took 45 minutes to get 2 club sandwiches in the restaurant. There were only 2 other customers at the time. The "pool" requires no bathing suits for men (I don't know about women as they are in separate area) and they repeatedly tried pulling off the swim trunks of my son and grandson and staff repeatedly dropped their own pants exposing themselves for them to better understand. It was totally weird! They left and did not swim. No one that we encountered spoke English so it was quite difficult. And my folding cot was broken and when you sat on it, it collapsed. It took a few phone calls to get it replaced with a much newer one that they could have given me the first time around. Nice location and on appearance looks really nice but I would never stay there again.

I stayed here for 6 nights which I think is more than the average stay. It’s a decent llace to stay. Having free access to the hotspring, pool and sauna is a nice feature. Our biggest issue was on the first day I noticed the air conditioning was not cold... At all. I inform them about it and they try to play off that it will come on at some point. Someone comes THREE times and touches settings which I already did and I tell them about it and they tell me to wait. After the third nothing changes and I feel that they knew nothing would change, absolutely terrible this service and care especially for someone staying there for 6 nights. Very upset with them for this. It was colder outside so I had to open the windows... if you stay make sure right away that your room has Cold air.

personnel not interested in what the customer wants do not have any idea of English and do not take some of the major credit cards. Also they want payment direct instead of wotif paying as most hotels normally do. In the end we didn't stay there and would not recommend to anyone.

Please trust me this is not a hotel. I stayed 4 nights and changed room two times, 1st was so dirty, smell, cold and shower was broken, 2nd was cold, bathroom drainage was clogged and shower head was rusted. I complained to front desk, she said room is cold because of natural wind outside. The staffs wasn’ bad as hotel but they don’t understand English. I’d prepaid so I can’t cancel and go to other hotel. Please don’t use this place. Breakfast was ok for 60 yuan (88 yuan at hotel restaurant.

Hotspring was a plus. Otherwise, rooms are dated and note that the room size reflected in hotels.com may not be updated. Had to argue with hotel staff about room size. They claimed info was outdated.

The hotel itself is OK. A little run down, not unclean, just a little old. We speak broken Putonghua, and got around just fine with the staff. The concierge, a new guy... 100 percent for effort if a little clueless with regard nearby restaurants and the like. Its quiet outside the the hotel and very local, though I think I saw a Pacific Coffee just across the road. Wouldn't advise venturing out alone or with kids after dark. But perhaps the one thing that was disappointing was the rooms were very hot. Its still not time in Beijing to turn on the cooling fancoils, so we were stuck in rooms that were too hot to sleep with no recourse in unseasonally hot weather. Having said that, the kids loved the spa and the pool in the evening... especially after each day of grueling local tours. Seems many families come for that pool! So our advice would be to either be there in the summer or winter... definitely not spring or autumn where you just don't know what the weather will turn out to be. Might have been a little better for us if we had spent a little more to book a 5 star with pool. But then again, it could be the same deal with the temperature control!

my family stayed there for the night before we went to the great wall. very comforting sleep, and nice facility. it's just less than 5 minute's walk to the closest subway station, from where we took subway to jishuitan station. From jishuitan subway station (B2 exit) it is about 10 min walk to Deshengmen Arrow Tower, where the starting bus stop for the THE most popular bus route (bus 877) to the Great Wall is located. And did I mention the bus fare is CHEAP? It's less than 2 dollar for a trip longer than one hour to one of the most popular sightseeing in the world! (everybody gets a seat on the bus, though at peak season you may have to stay in line to get onto the bus ). Not to mention on that bus they have free tour guide to give you IMPORTANT suggestion and tips on things to be noted when touring at Great Wall (sorry, Chinese speaker only, no English translation, which is probably why I dont see many foreigners on that bus route, what a shame.), and nobody will try to talk you into buying anything end of the trip, like what you probably would have experieced somewhere else. I probably spent too much on bus 877, but the hotel is pretty decent. the free breakfast is not exactly on par with what I would expected from hotel at that rate level, but still sufficient. will stay again.
