This is the 2nd time we've stay at this hotel. The first was manageable, nothing to complain about since the price is reasonable. The 2nd time was much better, since they are upgrading the hotel, slight noises during day time. To our surprise, we got a free upgrade when we request to stay on the same floor as a friend travelling with us. And they managed to let us stay next to each other. Will definitely stay in this hotel again.

This hotel is my absolutely favorite when in Shanghai. It is located on a fabulous Main Street in the French Concession close to everything in that gorgeous area. There are other big name chains but for the price this is fabulous.

Staying at the Mason Hotel puts you in the heart of all the Shanghai action. Convenient access to subway, walking, best shopping ever and every type of restaurant to please an international palette. The staff are friendly and speak good English. Starbucks is right outside your door, across the street and another one close by. The rooms were comfortable, clean and very quiet at night. This is our second stay and we will come back!

Overall my stay was okay. It was a good location - just above a Starbucks and close to shops, restaurants, and bars. However, since it was November (a winter month) they turned the building’s A/C off, but it was still warm outside which made for sticky nights. The check in process was a bit long, but the rooms, etc. were like the online pictures.

Everything was fine. I would like some more western foods. They would fry eggs for you but I would have liked some scrambled eggs in the buffet line as well as say some pancakes. They had lots of bacon and toast.

The hotel location is great with MTR just a short distance walk with 2 supermarkets and restaurants all around the area. Can never go hungry....... The hotel rooms need a face lift to the whole décor and all fittings and toilet is very dated and shocking to find a cockroach crawling in the room. The bed position is wrong as it's too near to the wall column and I tripped over the bed linen drapes a few times as I go by. Poor layout plan by Interior design. The Housekeeping team is very efficient and prompt with service. Hopefully the management will look into their budget to do up the rooms and I will be very delighted to stay again for my next trip.
