Ark Beach Hotel

The Ark Beach Hotel is beautiful and peaceful, with a gorgeous pool surrounded olive trees, a lovely beach, and stunning views. The breakfast buffet was great. What a find! But there’s more…the level of caring and kindness when we arrived after midnight due to a flight delay was amazing. We were welcomed so warmly, invited to stay past checkout while waiting for lost bags, and allowed to enjoy the beautiful pool and property which made Is (almost) forget the rough travel and lost bags and get our vacation off to a great new start. Couldn’t recommend this place more—THANK YOUArk Beach Hotel!

We had a lovely family vacation staying in the Squirrel apartment. Our eight and twelve year-old kids enjoyed the pool and walkability to a lovely little beach and town. The owners of the hotel were very kind and friendly, making us feel right at home. The apartment itself had all the essentials, it wasn't fancy but it was absolutely lovely. It was very clean, modern and had an amazing view. It was plenty of room for the four of us and we enjoyed our time here. We will most certainly be back!

Beautiful bar terrace and amazing pool area. Literally 4 minutes walk from a beach with the clearest sea we have ever known. The owners/family could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They felt like our friends by the end of the week. We will definitely return. A wonderful stay!

We only spent a short time in the Ark but really enjoyed our time there m. The family are great and so helpful and the property is beautiful right on the sea. The roof top terrace is fabulous and has amazing views

Great hosts. Great location, near the beach and nice pool. Walking distance to restaurants. Great breakfast.Family run establishment. The only think I didn’t like was the gym cost an extra 20 euro per day.

The property and the hosts were very nice and friendly. Despite being the Easter weekend they arranged everything for us. The only slight problem was the property is difficult to find as its inside a residential area and not well marked.

Amazing views of the sea from the property. Beach (pebbles) accessible from the property via a short flight of steps. Clean sea and beach with crystal clear waters. The hotel is family run and they go out of their way to look after you. We had am amazing time there and the local town is just as amazing with everyone so friendly and everything so clean.

Overrated private villa run by owner: it not a hotel: no services. Rooms lack basics necessities.

Amazing location right on the beach. Due to COVID-19 we were not able to use the breakfast room/bar but other than that we had a lovely week. The manager/owner(?) was very helpful with any queries we had. Pool was much nicer than the photos

Great location, secluded area, clean beach, beautiful sea view, wonderful hosts, and 15 minutes from downtown Split.

We were quite disappointed with this property because it advertised amenities and services that it did not provide. It advertised a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view but we only had access during breakfast 8-10a, and bar hours 7-10p. Advertised king size bed was two twins, which is not unusual but most advertise king or twin when this is the option. There were dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door when we arrived. There were no toiletries. Advertised daily cleaning service didn’t happen. Someone came in the first morning after we arrived to change towels never to return. It advertised 24 hour front desk service and we never once saw anyone at the front desk. Finding someone for assistance was difficult outside breakfast hours. The property was not very well maintained. The private beach, which was the only reason we chose this hotel so far outside the city center, was not what we expected from the photos, small with more difficult access to the water. TV reception was iffy. Overall, the hotel we were looking the most forward to staying at during our vacation in Croatia was our least favorite. Save your money on Uber/taxis and stay within walking distance of the City Center.

It was aweful, plain and simple. We paid $270 for one night, and as any sain person we expected luxury for that amount. Instead we were placed in a basement room, which was advertised as parking view and had a balcony/terrace. In reality, our windows were looking directly onto the parking concrete, and we could only see up to peoples' calves. The room was depressing, we couldn't open the window or the blinds, because other people could look directly into our room. Even with the blinds pulled down, you could see behind them once you laid down on the bed. So while we were sleeping others could look directly at us, pass the blinds. It got very humid when it rained and we could not open the window because water would leek into the room. And within 15 minutes after it rained, the room stank of mold. The bathroom had a tiny bath tub, in which you could not even sit, and when you were standing in it the metal/plastic kept bouncing and creaking. Thd water pressure was terrible as well, I could have had a better shower outside in the rain. They don't serve coffee in the restaurant past noon, nor do they offer any food past 10am. The hotel advertised that they were on the beach, while yes they are nearby the sea and they have a lovely view of it from the restaurant, in order to get to the beach you have to walk down a cliff, down very steep steps and trough the woods to get to it for about 500 feet.

I was a bit disappointed by this hotel, mainly because the photos really make it seem like more of a beach hotel and a nicer pool area. It’s tons of stairs to the beach and the lower level rooms only have peak views of the water through the trees. The rooftop deck is amazing though and breakfast had good options. The pillows were not very comfortable and the shower had mold in it. That needs to have the caulking stripped and redone. It’s a short ride into the city and we had no problems getting an Uber within a few minutes to take us where we needed. The hosts were very friendly and other than the initial disappointment of the view and pool area it was a wonderful stay. They stock the fridge with beer/wine/cider you can purchase and enjoy on your patio or deck. We didn’t do the evening drinks on the rooftop but I’m sure that would be very nice as well. Overall a good stay, just be aware the photos are a little deceiving. (We stayed in the octopus room, for reference about the moldy shower).

Loved the rooms clean & modern, family were lovely, room from roof terrace was amazing

We had booked a room with kitchen and refrigerator and coffee and tea maker and with sea view terrace. What we got did not have any of those things and our terrace was a shared piece of land so imagine if the neighbours had been smokers! We were charged for the above so after the first night decided to move to another hotel but the owners refused to accept our protest and charged us for the second night. We contacted Expedia who told us to contact Hotels.com who I they own but since we have no way of e mailing them to bring this to their notice, we have left this report. DO NOT GO THERE. YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF. We will not be using Hotels.com again.

This property misdescribed a small bedroom in the basement as a self catering appartment with lounge, kitchen etc. The management refused on numerous occasions to move us to an apartment. Truely awfull here, do not go.
