Hotel Christiansminde

We pretty much liked everything about the hotel. It is right on the water front and the surrounding areas are just beautiful. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It would be nice if the had shower gel in the bathroom. They only provided shampoo.

Quiet, beautiful views, and perfectly located—close to the city but away from the crowds. Don't skip Brød for tasty pastries and sandwiches!

Fantastic location and setting but average rooms

Nice clean rooms, fantastic view over Svendborgsund. Room had everything we needed for a stay-over including a corner to relax,- we stayed 3 adults, in a double room, towels for two only ( which seems to be a standard miss for most places, not a big problem). Breakfast was plenty of everything og very tasty, will stay again.

I paid for two rooms, and I asked to upgrade to a suite for the hole family. I was then charged extra even the fee on the web site was lower for a suite than two rooms. So I paid for two rooms plus an upgrade fee. This is not good customer service! For dinner we ordered the best white wine one the menu and the best red wine. The food was lower than average and the service was terrible. I am traveling a lot and know what good customer service is. This hotel service are not living up to a 3 star hotel....

We stayed just 2 nights at Hotel Christiansminde. Our room was spacious but we were disappointed to find that we did not have a sea view! The restaurant however had lovely views over the water. Just about 20mins walk from Svendborg; we were able to eat at the local restaurants. The hotel provided free bikes and the ferry M/V Helge stopped at the hotel. The staff were friendly and breakfast was reasonable but there was a shortage of English Breakfast tea and no fruit on the first morning.

Our experience with this hotel was unexpectedly negative. Staff people are very nice, no complains. You can take bikes and have a ride for no fee. Breakfast is good. Very nice balcony with a great view on the bay. However, the rooms have reminded us student dormitories that were rebuilt/adapted as hotel. The entrance door that you open when you're actually outside the building lead you directly to the bedroom. You put your dirty shoes and hang your clothes just 30cm from your bed and the entrance door. The "children"'s room is actually a very small separate compartment where you can find a wardrobe and two-levels bed. There are no any stairs to get to the second floor bed! The "room" is so tight that two people can stand there only one after another. A special gratitude goes to the bathroom. Combined toilet + bathroom is always not nice, especially if someone has just used the toilet (remember -- the room is for 4 people!), but the size of the wash-basin was a real surprise! It is of a size that is usually installed in toilets. You cannot real use it for anything more than wash your hands. You cannot shave because the hairs drop around. There is no excuse for these drawbacks. We dis-recommend using these rooms for guests coming as more than couples. I cannot believe this hotel has got 4 stars, this is ridiculous.

Godt og fint rent værelse med fantastisk udsigt over vandet. Morgenmad med et rigtig godt udvalg i god og lækker kvalitet. Personalet var meget venlige på hotellet og i restauranten.

Venligt personale. Rent værelse med gode faciliteter. Go morgenmadsbuffet. Eneste minus var at nogen havde lukket for radiatoren i værelset, så der var kun 16 grader da jeg ankom kl. 19.30. Det blev løst.

Super fint værelse, men møg uhyggeligt at ankomme ene kvinde i en afsides bygning med mødelokaler og værelser med mænd på forretningsrejse. Ankom kl 23.00 i regn og mørke. Aldrig har jeg været så bange for at tage en elevator alene med 2 mænd. Nøglerne klar mellem fingrene til forsvar. Jeg turde ikke at tage i fitness og gå til morgenmad. Heldigvis var der kaffe på værelset. Forlod først værelset lige inden tjek ud.
