What Guests Say About Their Stay

This is a vintage inn. There is a lovely pub restaurant downstairs with comfy lounge area and pool table for guests. This was seriously the best food we had on our trip, including both meat-based and the vegetarian dish which my daughter ordered. We will 100% plan to come again. We unfortunately arrived the same day Denmark announced a lock down due to Covid19. The proprietor was gracious and kind, and assured us that if we were ever stuck she would never turn us away and would always take care of us. She was very kind and has won our loyalty. Highly recommended.

I phoned the hotel at 14:30 on my day of arrival, as I would not be arriving until shortly after 20:00. I was told that the keys would be left in a locked box, and I was given the code. When I got to the hotel, although I could open the box, the keys were not there. Another couple who were staying there said the same had happened to them and gave me the contact telephone number. When I called, it was a prerecorded message in Danish, but no one answered. I was locked out of the hotel with no idea what to do. Thankfully, there was a lady down the road who knew the owner's phone number. She called her, and it was arranged that someone would bring the key. Had I not approached this very kind lady, I would not have had anywhere to stay. I have not received any apology. The hotel has a strange smell in the public areas. Although there is a pub attached, which is also the 'reception' for the hotel, it closes at 15:00, meaning no staff are available after that time if anything goes wrong. You can't leave your luggage at the hotel if you want to pick it up after 15:00, as there's nobody there. The breakfast is poor. There is a cold buffet and eggs and bacon kept warm on a single plate over a candle.

A small, characterful hotel in the centre of town. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was good but lacked storage. Food was great, although portions were huge. A short walk took you to the town's many attractions. Highly recommended.

Hotel Ribe was an authentic, older Danish hotel with no frills. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed sitting in their restaurant/common room and sipping a cognac or hot chocolate. It is ideally located in the center of this medieval town, steps from the Ribe Cathedral. All in all, I would say it is reasonable value for money.

We chose to stay in a room with a private bath which was smart. We noticed there were three nearby rooms using a shared bathroom outside our door. We had the front corner room with two windows which was nice for cross ventilation as it was unseasonably warm. The room was very basic, but the bed was comfortable and the location was the best part of the whole place! Just a block or so from the old Church and the pedestrian streets.

I arrived at Ribe Hotel and straight away was made to fell welcome . The owners and staff are great people and even have Bundy Rum in the bar which is my favourite drink . After the Bundy ran out Neils and Tina took me to their home where we drank from their private stash and even cooked me dinner . You cant beat that for hospitality . Neils also gave me a lift to the golf course . All the staff made me feel welcome and were very helpful . I will be coming back to Ribe and I will be staying at Ribe Hotel . You should do the same .

Small historical hotel in a good location for exploring all of old Ribe. It's a bit old and a little musty smelling but the room was comfortable and seemed clean. It does lie on one of the main thoroughfares to the old town area that is wide enough to handle trucks so expect some vehicle noise in the early morning. Staff were very friendly and the small restaurant/bar is pleasant.

The town of Ribe and Hotel Ribe were the highlights of our nine days in Denmark. The hotel was perfect for our styles and mood. I am 66 and my daughter is 24, and we both loved it! Funky (in the best way) and warm and welcoming and colorful. Love the checkin at the attractive bar. Both women at that station (upon checkin and the next day) were very friendly and helpful and relaxed and informative. The bar itself served wonderful food and beer and akvavit. The breakfast was very good. The bed, a queen-sized which we shared, was very comfortable. The bathroom was tiny, but so what, it worked. The only drawback was no elevator, but we managed. If you want a big, glamorous, cushy place, you might not appreciate Hotel Ribe. But if you like warm, scenic, quirky, this just might be just for you. It sure was for us!

A small, but friendly and delightful little hotel, located right in the old part of Ribe. The hotel is located one block from the major church/square of Ribe, in a very quite neighborhood. It is literally no more than 10 minutes walk to anywhere in town you want to go. The hotel is small, family run, and serves a few dishes for dinner, if one does not want to go out in town for dinner. They also have a reasonably well stocked bar (it is a small hotel, they do not have everything!). The bar and the hotel shots down at 10:00 PM, be aware. While the room was big with its own bathroom (not all rooms have this feature!), it would be served well with a bit of an upgrade. It was clean, functioned well and the staff (family) were all friendly, polite and knowledgeable. I would use it again, if I went to Ribe.

A very hygge place in the old part of Ribe run by people who take an interest in the guests who sleep in their seven rooms. One trick: I was unable to pay with my signature-based credit card. Hopefully those will soon be as obsolete in the U.S. as they are in Denmark.
