The cleaning staff and the breakfast lady do an amazing job! However, it seems nothing is fixed when broken. Even the toiletroll holder was busted, the tiles in the bathroom damaged and the grouting moldy. But is was very cheap and the bed was fine. And, as mentioned, it was surprisingly clean and the breakfast was brilliant for the price.
Will visit again if the opportunity arises.

Det har en skøn beliggenhed og udsigten og vandet kan ikke være bedre, derfor er undringen også stor over at man ikke renovere så skønt er sted. Det er meget slidt.. vi så ikke noget personale i de 2 dage vi var der. Vi prøvede ikke morgenmaden, syntes det var for dyrt. Spillerummet var en af grundende til at vi bookede netop dette hotel, men alt var i stykker og kunne ikke rigtig bruges. Mega ærgerligt.

I would not recommend Hotel Østersø. We arrived in Aabenraa for a 4-night stay for 4 guests in 2 rooms, costing nearly $900, and the property was nothing like what we expected from a functioning hotel. The building looked abandoned and poorly maintained, with broken glass near the front entrance/parking area. It did not feel safe or suitable for guests.
There appeared to be no other customers there, and the property lacked basic hotel facilities and atmosphere. The condition of the building made us extremely uncomfortable, especially since we were traveling as a group and expected a clean, safe place to stay. This was not a normal situation where we simply changed our minds; we could not reasonably stay somewhere that felt unsafe and neglected.
We immediately contacted Expedia for help and a refund, but the hotel refused to waive the cancellation policy. In my opinion, a cancellation policy should not apply when the accommodation itself is unsafe, not properly maintained, and not provided as advertised.
This experience caused major stress, wasted time, and left us scrambling to find another place to stay. Guests deserve honest listings and safe accommodations. Based on what we experienced, I would strongly avoid this hotel.

Hvis man kunne give 0 stjerner var det mere rammende, jeg vil ikke anbefale hotellet til nogle som helst, værelser er beskidte, der er ikke wifi, selv om det står i beskrivelsen, ingen TV, der lugter på værelser og vandhaner virker ikke korrekt, vandet sprøjter ud til alle sider, der er ikke rengøring.
Jeg boede på hotellet i max 30 minutter og forlod det, jeg er vant til at rejse med små 60 overnatninger om året på forskellige hoteller og dette hote er under al kritik

It was comfortable size room with 2 beds far enough apart to prevent disturbing eachothers much needed sleep with snoring and such.
Nice quiet on the garden side, (not on the beach side: Busy road + harbour noises from far it seemed.
The breakfast was nice with super sweet staff lady.
Great shower, very good water pressure. Plenty of storage space in cupboards.
This hotel could do with a good renovation. The electric wiring and sockets look very outdated and even could be a dangerous fire hazard!
The busy noisy street in front of the beach should be closed of for regular traffic. ( at least a ‘dam’ in the middle of the boulevard and 2 dead end streets on each side so businesses / residents can reach destinations). With maximum priority to pedestrians and bicycles. Nice stalls / market / beautiful park & flowers & art sculptures along the beach instead of cars please?

Worn down, and the room had a weird smell. But the location was perfect, the room very spacious and the manual check in system flawless. Would use it again for a quick nights of sleep, but not as a place for having a relaxing stay with the family.

Man låser dig selv ind med kode, det er ikke et hotel.
Det er simpelthen for ringe, slidt, ikke rent, lugter og absolut ingen komfort mm. Dårlige senge, elendige gamle slidte møbler på værelset. Det minder om en lejrskole fra 1970’erne.
Det burde ikke lejes ud længere. Det kan man ikke være bekendt.
Og ALT for dyrt.

At kalde dette et hotel er en mild overdrivelse. Intet personale ud over rengøring pg morgenbolledame, så det er nærmere en bed and breakfast. MEGET slidt værelse, uden tv men med stikkontakt næsten direkte under bruseren, der hang over badekarret. Eneste lyspunkt var reklamen for restaurant Under Sejlet, der stod i forieen. Stedet er 5 minutter i nedrivning.
