Hillary Nature Resort Spa

My stay at this resort started off poorly due to a lack of proper guidance at check-in. Jefferson, the receptionist, failed to provide basic information such as buffet times, snack bar locations, or general amenities, which made our first day very frustrating. To add to that, we were unexpectedly charged a 15% fee despite showing tourist passports—this felt unfair, especially since I had already booked through Expedia at standard rates. The food overall was average. Buffet meals were served in large batches and often cold. The snack bar offerings were minimal—usually just two nuggets with fries or the occasional burger, pizza, or wings (again, just two per serving). On a positive note, the main pool was beautiful, and the spa was truly the highlight of our stay. The service there was exceptional, and the massage area was relaxing and top-notch.

What we loved most is the spa, the place, the service and the experience

I love this place

The hotel charges A rates and gives you a B-type drinks. Local distilled moonshine seems to be the main alcoholic beverage and at the VIP pool beer is poured out of a salad bin. The food generally speaking is good, tasteful and varied, the disappointment came during New Year's Eve dinner, being the same as any other night. On top of that, wine is of mediocre quality and not even for NY eve a better bottle was offered. The maintenance has been overlooked on many issues, small details and larger details show signs of wear and tear. The facilities are three years old, but appear older. The surroundings of the resort are worth your while, the pools are great, yet the main pool tends to overcrowd as the resort sells day passes as well. If you travel with a wheelchair or stroller, be aware not all areas are easily accesible, although the staff is more than prepared to help you out. I was very impressed by the drivers, great guys, each one of them, as were the guys at the restaurant. On the room, swell, nice presentation, not enough closets (only one tiny closet) so we lived out of our suitcases for the stay. And among the suitcases, as there was no room to store them. Under the bed an old sock was found, the room temp was 100 degrees upon arrival and the airco only managed to reduce the temp after sun set. During day time the airco, set at 75 F could not lower the temp to less than 90 F. Prior to this qualification, I sent a mail to the management, still no reply.

El SPA y las vistas fue lo mejor. La comida estuvo bien, a pesar de que había una carta solo atendían en bufete y para niños eso es mucho. Lastimosamente nos tocó una pareja de vecinos muy “escandalosos”, la administración se encargó inmediatamente después que los llamé. La habitación con mucho olor a humedad.

Me gustó los programas que tienen de entretenimiento para día y noche, además de ofrecer almuerzo especial muy bien presentado y atractivo. El aire acondicionado sonaba toda la noche. Parecía lloviendo. Pienso que es un tema de mantenimiento. Expedia debería permitir reservar 2 habitaciones diferentes en la misma reserva para facilitarla. Me tocó hacer dos reservaciones diferentes.
