Amblehurst Hotel

Very poor hotel. I was staying a few miles away for half the price and the rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. As I was working away with a colleague I booked 2 family rooms. The rooms are dated and not up to standard. I had no towels in my room and there was only 1 in the other FAMILY room I booked. I booked family rooms as both our partners and baby’s were coming to stay one night. My room smelt strongly of smoke and the smoke detector had been covered up. The corridors smelt of smoke and sometimes marijuana. After the first night I had to move rooms due to the smell of smoke, blocked sink, broken shelf in the bathroom. The list goes on. Second room was much better. Overall I wouldn’t recommend for the price.

We was kept awake ALL night by what we believe to be homeless people in an adjoining room who showed total disregard to paying guests.They were shouting,swearing and general getting pissed and if I was working the next morning I would have gone and sorted them out. No member of staff went anywhere near them to tell them to shut up or chuck them out, it was a disgrace that paying guests were subject to crap like that.

We stayed here as we were doing a half marathon locally. It was basic but clean and near to a metro station. Staff were pleasant.

Rather oldie worldy and needed an upgrade. Staff very friendly and obliging with an excellent breakfast prepared.

Constant smell of urine and weed throughout the hotel which is extremly run down. Resturant was closed and only eating option was the very suspect bar area. Television did not have signal. Mattress was unbelievably thin and shower had no water pressure. Room was averagely clean, but I will not be staying here again and would advise others to avoid

In need of extensive smartening up. Small noisy rooms with average facilities. Staff good breakfast good. Reasonable budget accommodation

Very Clean and quiet for a building which is not a new build.

Decent for price but wifi connectivity was poor. Staff very courteous and helpful.

Was only in town for a gig, decent location near the metro for access to city centre and beyond. Spent minimal time at hotel, cheap clean and perfect for what I needed.

Nice clean triple room. Close by to tram stop so we could get to where we were heading easily. Shower lacking power but ok.

Had a good two night stay here. Was expecting old style rooms in this old Tudor building but the rooms are nice and modernised. Worst thing was the internet didn't work in our room. If you're on a budget and aren't too fussy then its spot on.

Initial impressions not good. Outside the main entrance were a lot of scruffy smokers which was a bit off putting. (After we had been out, we realised this is common in this area) We received a good welcome, & went to our room to change. Will certainly stay again.
