Received a lovely welcome upon arrival and directed to our room. Lovely room overlooking the car park (we had asked for a quiet room) so minimal noise. Excellent location, no more than 2 mins from the first pub! Had a drink in the hotel before we went out at night and a chat, very friendly staff. Didn't have breakfast as I can't eat early morning but the breakfast room looked lovely, all bright and light. This building is over 250 yrs old and is beautiful. DO NOT expect a Premier Inn, all white and pre-fab. DO expect an individual, real, well loved hotel. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Not somewhere I'd ever stay again personally. Rooms very small, bed seemed small and very creaky & uncomfortable, hard to get a comfortable temperature in the room and church bells ringing every 15 minutes disturbed me non stop. Was tricky lugging my suitcase up a flight of stairs too. (Only had a case as this was night 5 of 5 away). Seemed clean enough though & cheap option for Alton Towers.

The property is old but that’s not excuse for the dust & cobwebs everywhere, the carpet on the stairs is threadbare & a trip hazard. There was dried baked beans in the table leg when we had breakfast & cereal dried on the milk jug. The second day the beans had gone but the same dirty milk jug as the day before! & a hair in the tablecloth. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

One night stay whilst visiting the races. Very convenient for centre of town and racecourse. Free parking at rear of hotel which was good. Skipped breakfast as it ended at 9.30 am. So popped over Wetherspoons instead only 2 minutes walk.

An Amazing friendly welcome from Mary, Nicky, and Petra. Lovely people who could not do enough to make are stay so welcoming. We used the hotel as an over night stop as there are no motorhome campsites in Uttoxeter, on our way from John o Groats to Lands End with my Nephew driving our motorhome and I'm walking the entire distance for Alzheimer's Research UK. All the staff were very appreciative of what we are doing and went the extra mile to make us welcome and comfortable. Thank you .

The property is very dilapidated with dangerously steep and uneven stairs. Not even a bedside light on one side of the double bed. Drawers with no handles. All very scruffy. Not enough bedding. No duvet.Very expensive for such poor facilities.
