De Trafford Hotel by Greene King Inns

Very noisy, loud music and partying below my room until 1 am, couldn’t sleep. Didn’t expect anything like that on a midweek stay. Music started again at 7 am! Poor mattress. Room furniture, carpets, heating all very run down. Poor value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay! We will definitely recommend ot to our friends and family when we get back home to Canada.

Rooms are a bit tired. Menu has lots of variety, food is good. Staff are very friendly.

A good value place to stay in alderley edge with helpful staff

Love being at the Trafford when I visit my patents. So central and so much cheaper than anything else around Alderley. Love having the bar there too.

I always enjoy staying here - nice location, friendly staff, quirky rooms, nice pub downstairs. Be warned that this is not a standard, generic hotel! An older building with "character", which I enjoy but others may not. Would not be good if you have mobility issues: lots of stairs (even in the rooms), small elevator, baths difficult to enter/exit. Internet OK but spotty in some locations. Walls are fairly thin (you can hear your neighbors talking) but I've never heard the pub patrons, even when on the 1st floor, and hall-mates are almost always very quiet so this is very seldom a problem. Pub downstairs has lots of space and is usually quite quiet - good place to have a quiet chat or get some work done.

Staff are great and very reasonably priced, but rooms are in very poor condition. Our room actually had holes in the window frames, which were very old single glazed wood. Room desperately in need of a major refurb

I like this hotel - its unpretentious. I can recommend breakfast. The thing I really like about this hotel is that most rooms have a bath.

Very tired dirty room. Worst mattress ever! Musty and smoky smell. Hairs on spare pillows. Unwashed cup. Handle on bathroom window broken so doesn’t close in middle of winter! Evidence of smoking in bathroom with ash stains around window. Constantly leaking bathroom tap. No shower mat in the very slippery bath and no handle to hold when in shower. No sockets near bed or charging ports anywhere, needs completely modernising. Damaged skirting board/paintwork. Walls/carpet stained and dirty. Just felt very grubby, almost went home but after arriving in the early hours after a delayed flight with home being 2 1/2 hours away decided wasn’t wise to drive but wish I had! Bed so uncomfortable, no sleep and felt very grubby!

Tiny shower cubicle - would be impossible for a large person (I'm average size for a woman) to get in or out of small space when bi-fold doors fully folded! Peeling & dirty Bathroom window frames in need of redecorating. Very poor lighting as only 1 of 3 overhead lights worked & 2 bedside lights low voltage. Comfotable bed & clean linen.

Hotel is clean, staff are helpful, food was good. Good quality mattress and bedding, en suite functional but a little dated. Free parking provided you register your car. Can't really fault at the price point it is.

Great location at the top of Alderley Edge's lovely high street. It's a smart looking building with good parking and the bar/restaurant area is nice. It was convenient and the bed was comfortable but the decor and fittings are tired, which I think is reflected in the price.

Emma the manager was fantastic. Very capable and friendly and was running around doing multiple jobs when needed.
