Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club

Beautiful area, close to most venues or days out in area. Only issue for me was pot holes lots of them and showers are not great. However very nice venue, nice area and friendly staff.

This was an on route stop over. Reviews were average, and that kind of sums it up really. Some photos make it look a lot better than it is. We booked DBB, to keep it simple for 1 night. DInner on Friday night was a buffet- not ideal, Luke warm food, choice very limited, so not ideal. I did see later other tables ordering from a menu, so it might have been the DBB option, but I’d have liked a better choice. Pudding they has sticky toffee pudding with a sauce, but ice cream was extra! 🙄 Breakfast better, although pastries were very dry. So ok if your into golf, but if not I’d give a miss.

The interior decor was weathered - grubby carpets and decor needed refresh. The mini fridge in the room didn’t work and we had to ask twice for a replacement. The corridors always had room service trays laying around awaiting collection for hours. We ordered a £12 dessert platter for 2 upon arrival and received a tiny plate of finger nibbles!

The hotel is in a lovely setting and our room was clean and very spacious. Reception staff could have been more friendly and helpful, information wasn't volunteered and they tried to avoid eye contact when anyone approached the desk to ask something. Spa treatments were good with a nice relaxation space but the pool had children's swimming lessons both days we were there so not a place to relax. Restaurant was very disappointing so we avoided after the first evening meal and breakfast. We were told that there was only a buffet available for £35 when we arrived at the restaurant, an expensive fish and chips, we certainly didn't want 3 courses but we're not given a choice. It is a captive market and after a long drive we did not want to venture out again so had little choice. Staff were scarce and slow in taking our drinks order and to clear plates between courses but many members of waiting staff appeared out of nowhere to sing Happy Birthday to someone at another table. We also soon discovered that others in the restaurant were able to order a la carte which we would have much preferred. The jerk chicken was nice but not served with rice and peas. Rest of the food was average. We walked to the Bull pub in Meriden the next day and the food and staff there were excellent.

Dated hotel, service seemed more like Indian takeaway, not impressed

A nice visit in great surroundings, but with venue inside now looking a bit dated. Staff collecting plates/crockery/cutlery a matter of seconds after finishing breakfast was not great .. and happened 3-4 times. Not ideal in what is meant to be a quality venue.

The property needs updating in all the areas including bedrooms. However, the room rate offered was good value for money. The staff were excellent.

Lovely hotel although could do with a little tlc in places, pool was too cold for us but other than that steam room & sauna were fantastic. Restaurant menu was pricey but the 3 course buffet option was fantastic offer at £35pp. Would love to return as perfect place to stay when visiting the bp pulse live/nec, took under 15 mins to get back from show

Excellent and helpful staff. Did not like potholes, smell of drains, slightly tired look.

Stunning location and well maintained grounds, property required updating. Some staff not very welcoming. Bar and restaurant very expensive.

Beautiful place to stay, lovely calm, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Friendly, helpful and polite staff. Great selection at breakfast. Only downside was no air-con in my bedroom and was very hot through the night. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful location

Friendly staff and allowed us to check in 45 mins earlier. Pool was very nice and service was excellent . One really big downfall was the smoke alarm was triggered so all guest had to be evacuated out of the building at 4.am in the morning! With kids this was very difficult. Had to wait outside for nearly an hour till all was clear. We had no explanation from the hotel. I would appreciate something in return.

Beautiful grounds. Very roomy rooms

A lovely hotel! Full of charm and set in a gorgeous location. Having the resident cat made it even more special! The spa was a great feature, but the showers needed a little TLC as they were a bit smelly! Would stay again, can’t wait to come back!

We’ve stayed at this hotel several times and really enjoy the location and the service from the staff. Only let down on this stay we felt was that the rooms seemed a bit dusty. Surfaces could have been willed down with more care

It’s our favourite place to stay for me and my daughter. Such a lovely hotel, spacious rooms and friendly staff. If we do Warwick castle and Birmingham for the weekend we will always stay here

The grounds are beautiful and the room was decent - thank you. I was disappointed with the restaurant; had to wait 10mins for our empty table to be wiped. We were not asked if we wanted a drink. I asked for some sauce when the meal arrived. I repeated the request to a different waitress. The sauce eventually came when I had almost finished my meal. The food was fine but I was not impressed with the meal service.
