Holiday Inn ROTHERHAM-SHEFFIELD M1,JCT.33 by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Overall the stay was good. Would have made it excellent if the property was in top condition. Property needs some work done to bring it up to standard. Many areas including within room, you can see it's starting to become run down with flaking paint, broken radiators, ripped furniture. Also bathrooms could do with a proper clean as mold could be seen around the bathtub seals. However, for me, this all wasn't a big concern and the service received from the staff, more than made up for it. Have to give 10/10 to the staff for their service and professionalism especially as I required milk for my daughter and with no microwave/fridge in the room, had to keep going down to the bar/coffee area to get warm/hot milk at different times of the day which was provided without any issues and without charge even though I was more than willing to pay for it. Free parking, swimming pool, breakfast etc was all more of a bonus for me.

Really good place for stopover for events at the Don Valley arena and on anywhere from the Meadowhall Interchange.

Friendly and welcoming staff, spacious room and lovely big breakfast! However, the shower was difficult to use and the drain was slow to empty so the bath half filled during the shower. The pool was a nice bonus for the kids with towels included making it easy to access during our short stay. But it was far too busy in the morning leaving only a small area available for children to swim (one lane and a shallow area). My partner was at the edge of the lane divider of the family area to watch the kids but he was hit in the head by another guest swimming on the other side, who didn't apologise! We had only been in a few minutes and this caused him to exit the pool early. More adult guests arriving & then swimming in the "family area" made me feel uneasy about the kids safety so we didn't stay long. This wasn't the hotels fault and if we had gone at a different time, it might have felt better. The kids still had fun and enjoyed a large breakfast afterwards and the staff were friendly and helpful making them pancakes. There was also a small play area in the lobby so we could relax while the kids played for a bit.

Was actually very surprised how nice this hotel was with it being in a deprived area like Rotherham, staff friendly especially the cleaner

Overall stay was brilliant

Receptionist was lovely, 1st room had a burst A/C water coming out. 2nd room was provided not a problem. Shower broke in 2nd room, someone cane into room at 7:30am because reception hadn’t noted I changed rooms. I will stay again and hope the same things don’t happen again.

Stayed for just one night for a birthday bash in Rotherham. Hotel very clean and very quiet at night. Receptionist very polite and friendly at check-in. Would stay again

Excellent staff service

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great they have a Starbucks!!! Very comfy beds. Great value for money.

The hotel itself & our room were good. The bed was very comfy & the parking was great. But we had a few frustrations that tainted our experience. We arrived slightly before check in & were told that a member of staff would let us know once our room was ready. After nearly an hour, we approached the desk to see how much longer this would take & it appeared that our room had been ready for some time but no one had told us. This wait made us late for our evening plans. The next morning we were woken about 7am by people talking in the corridor & lots of doors opening / closing. Then at 7.50am there was a fire alarm test which we weren’t forewarned about. This meant we didn’t know if it was a drill or if we needed to evacuate. We were wide awake after this & ended up checking out earlier than planned as a result. We were only in the hotel to sleep but left feeling quite disappointed by our stay.

Decent swimming pool, bar food and drinks. Easy parking. Convenient access to motorway and route into Sheffield.

Only issue was noisy guests during the night and kids jumping in the room above. Otherwise great place for a stop over.

Ben Kim and the receptionist and breakfast manager were lovely. Very helpful and informative, they all took the time to talk to us. Big thankyou to Ben, who couldn't do enought for me, as I'm disabled, he was offering to bring all my food and drink to the table, so attentive and kind, even though I made him spill his coffee. For such a young man, showed so much care, he will go far in this industry, please make sure he gets recognised for his kindness.

A value for money hotel overall. Some parts need attention e.g furnishings in the bar area, trims in bathroom suffering wear and tear. Beds comfortable pillows ok. Clean. Breakfast ok but they do need to keep an eye on replenishing the gluten free bread etc. not a great selection if you do not like a cooked breakfast. Decent bar food that arrives hot and freshly cooked.However this hotel caters for the hit and run customer and is good value for money overall. A mention to the young evening staff who were very pleasant and worked their socks off.

A nice room and large bed meant a good nights sleep. Shower was lovely and pressure was good.
