Don't have a pet so cant comment. Room was comfortable and had a good night sleep. Didn't have breakfast but bought a Late which did the trick. Breakfast was only £12 apparently - a bargain. Hotel location was great, lovely field with Deer in at back. Couldn't hear traffic from Road.

The room was not as expected based on the listing. The initial room we was given was suitable and cold. However Jon the manager was incredibly helpful. I must say he is a genuinely lovely guy and clearly cares about his guests and he helped find us a more suitable room with a bath so we could bath our child. For me Jon and the other staff we interacted with were the best thing about the stay and we’re all incredibly friendly.

We stayed here as was visiting family We needed accommodation that accepted dogs and they very much welcome dogs. Very clean. Had Sunday dinner which was amazing. Breakfast was a bit of let down. And the rooms needed upgrading. Little things like bigger beds better pillows would go a long way. Staff were lovely and overall a good stay

Friendly and polite reception staff, was Paulette breakfast for £12 Bathroom was ok, little dated and bit grubby. Bed was comfortable, th floor a little creaky. WiFi was ok. Woke up early and walked over to breakfast but was too early so had to sit and wait. For £12 breakfast tasted bland, the toast machine wasn’t on and coffee was bitter. Requested an iron and that did come over quickly although she didn’t knock she was gonna open the door herself so luckily I was decent an heard so opened the door myself.

Very nice lady on reception. Paid for breakfast which was not as ordered. We gave exact instruction as items to be very well cooked, this was not the case and did not have time to return it! The water in the shower was freezing. Plus the extractor very noisy. Parking was great and bus service very close. Enjoyed drinks in the bar, such a pity the other major things were not up to scrach.

Ideal location for visiting Durham etc & good Internet. Rooms outside a little tired but superb bathroom with lovely hot water and good lighting especially good for ladies applying makeup. Bed comfortable and bedding lovely. Room very clean. Staff were good at conversing with customers. Although only stayed one night would have no hesitation in booking again and would book direct.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was suited to limited mobility, as you can park adjacent (motel style) and minimal steps, but shower is over bath, so not for all. Room was clean with basic amenities, comfortable beds, great views over fields with deer and pheasants. Breakfast was traditional and OK, but we brunched in town the following morning. Bar meals are classic pub grub, tasty and good value. Local buses stop frequently, just outside, which was great for getting in to Durham, about 10 mins to the bus station/shops/cathedral/old colleges. Would recommend for a budget stopover and will use again

I wanted to add an extra night last minute and the staff were so helpful to keep us in the same room. We also went into the restaurant to play darts and the staff had great service as the board was away and they were very quick to move things around and change things so we were able to play!

A good place to stay overnight with easy access to Durham and beyond. However, there was no hot water that night or the following morning as the boiler had broken down. Reception said a 20% refund could be claimed through the booking agent. Not true. Booking agent bot would only provide £15 voucher on account and that took well over an hour to sort. Almost lost the will to live and the bot on site would not provide a telephone number or email address.
