Very nice lady on reception. Paid for breakfast which was not as ordered. We gave exact instruction as items to be very well cooked, this was not the case and did not have time to return it! The water in the shower was freezing. Plus the extractor very noisy. Parking was great and bus service very close. Enjoyed drinks in the bar, such a pity the other major things were not up to scrach.

Ideal location for visiting Durham etc & good Internet. Rooms outside a little tired but superb bathroom with lovely hot water and good lighting especially good for ladies applying makeup. Bed comfortable and bedding lovely. Room very clean. Staff were good at conversing with customers. Although only stayed one night would have no hesitation in booking again and would book direct.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was suited to limited mobility, as you can park adjacent (motel style) and minimal steps, but shower is over bath, so not for all. Room was clean with basic amenities, comfortable beds, great views over fields with deer and pheasants. Breakfast was traditional and OK, but we brunched in town the following morning. Bar meals are classic pub grub, tasty and good value. Local buses stop frequently, just outside, which was great for getting in to Durham, about 10 mins to the bus station/shops/cathedral/old colleges. Would recommend for a budget stopover and will use again

Functional, clean. Very friendly, helpful staff. Relatively basic, motel style.

Don't have a pet so cant comment. Room was comfortable and had a good night sleep. Didn't have breakfast but bought a Late which did the trick. Breakfast was only £12 apparently - a bargain. Hotel location was great, lovely field with Deer in at back. Couldn't hear traffic from Road.

Very good price and great to have restaurant and bar on site. 5min drive from the park and ride which is great to access the university.

Clean and comfy, no frills but still nice. Very lovely staff, and the food was great.

I wanted to add an extra night last minute and the staff were so helpful to keep us in the same room. We also went into the restaurant to play darts and the staff had great service as the board was away and they were very quick to move things around and change things so we were able to play!

A good place to stay overnight with easy access to Durham and beyond. However, there was no hot water that night or the following morning as the boiler had broken down. Reception said a 20% refund could be claimed through the booking agent. Not true. Booking agent bot would only provide £15 voucher on account and that took well over an hour to sort. Almost lost the will to live and the bot on site would not provide a telephone number or email address.

Jon was a true professional and very welcoming. He could not do enough to ensure my stay was perfect.

I always use this hotel and am never disappointed. The staff are great at meeting my requests, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, an the bar and restaurant serve very good food. Free parking and wifi are provided. Thoroughly recommended.

Good location for access to the centre of York. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Bed was large. Good breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was an unfortunate boiler breakdown during my stay but the staff responded professionally and very helpfully. As usual, room and bathroom were brilliantly clean and the restaurant served its usual excellent food, including an impressive choice at breakfast. I will be using this hotel as is usual for my future visits to Durham.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was clean. The duvet was 'tired' and I was cold in the middle of night with no additional bedding. They had a boiler breakdown so there was no hot water. They didn't let guests know until we asked. The food offer and breakfast were very good.

Tired basic rooms with small beds. Needs a complete refurbishment. TV didn't work sound no picture. Googled how to fix it. Bathroom fan sounded like a plane taking off. Carpet was more like lino than soft carpet. Staff were pleasant. Good location. Didn't eat there as reviews were poor.

Clean hotel /motel food not great and took ages despite not many in

Very clean and comfortable room as always at this hotel which I use at least once a month. Staff are also always helpful and try their best to meet my requests.

The property was very dated and in need of TLC ( some decorating was being carried out on a well worn reception). The room itself was not very good marked walls freezing cold bathroom and just a chair so wobbly afraid to sit on Before anyone askes why not complain i was there due to a bereavement and just wanted peace and quiet I have stayed in a lot worse places but was really disappointed and was expecting a lot better I could say more but !!!!
