Hornsbury Mill

Lovely, clean and comfortable room. All the staff were very friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced.

Excellent overnight stop ideally situated in quiet location on route back from Cornwall to Surrey. The mill is an historic building so our room and layout reflects this. We had pleasant evening meal seated next to the working water wheel and full English breakfast the next morning. All staff were very friendly and helpful

Nice historic property, staffed by a lovely helpful team. We had a good night’s sleep and a scrumptious breakfast. If I’m being super critical, the room was bordering on being tired but still comfortable and clean. Thank you guys!

Absolutely fantastic. As we checked in late we had to call for the night porter. He was so helpful. Room was really good, clean, spacious. Bed was large and comfortable. Room quiet. Plenty of Tea/coffee. Breakfast was also excellent. Kirsty made sure we had everything we needed and more. Cannot fault this hotel at all. Lovely grounds to walk round. Just need to come back and stay longer.

The room was spotless and a lot of thought in the details. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were the only guests for dinner but didn't feel awkward as the staff including the chef were chatting with us. The place was full of character whilst giving attention to comfort. We absolutely loved it.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff.

The Hornsbury Mill is a very charming hotel, set in beautiful grounds with a little lake. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the bed comfortable. I had the full English (vegan) breakfast and it was very tasty. The one complaint I had was that when the very charming old mill wheel is on and turning (which they switch off at 8pm), the noise made a constant thud in my room and bothered me a little. I assume it won’t be too much of a bother though to most people, who would be in bed well after 8pm, but on this particular occasion I was exhausted and needed to go to bed very early and get a good night’s rest. The other noise that bothered me was that my room # 6 was at the back of the hotel where the dumpsters are and where the staff seemed to hang out for a little while after their shift, which again disrupted my sleep. However, I did speak to someone (I assume the owner?) who was very apologetic and said he would address this. Overall I was very happy with the hotel and would recommend it.

A lovely old hotel with friendly staff and a warm welcome. Breakfast had a good choice and came well presented and hot. The room was clean and offered free bottles of water and tea, coffee and biscuits. A very enjoyable stay

Lovely setting being an old mill by a lake. Peaceful and a mist enjoyable stay.

What a lovely mill, the rooms were great, the bed very comfy, breakfast was brilliant and the grounds were really pleasant and charming to walk around. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Zoe was a star nothing was too much trouble for her. All staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. Grounds were stunning a lovely setting for a quiet drink with just the ducks for company.

From the moment we arrived we felt a sense of tranquility. The staff were welcoming and attentive. This place really is a hidden gem. Beautiful grounds with a lovely pond and ducks. Inside was just as appealing with a working waterwheel. We had a lovely meal and room was very comfortable. Will definitely stay again

Absolutely beautiful restored old mill lovely and clean , comfortable good food and friendly staff .Also the grounds of the hotel were breathtaking so lovely to walk around the lake and see the peacock and ducks would definitely return .

Good property but the room had uneven floor which made it hard to all if u steady on feet

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Hornsbury Mill. We had a friendly welcome and easy check in. Our room was comfortable and a good size and serviced upton request. We had dinner in the small and characterful restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. We found the Hornsbury Mill to be friendly and relaxed and enjoyed the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thank you
