A terrible stay here, a tiny room, very hot with no windows to open, just a small fan that was no use. Also the heated towel rail was on full heat, I asked the receptionist to get someone to fix it, 3 times during the course of the weekend , but nobody came. It was still.on full when we were checking out after 3 days. We couldn't stay in the room at all because of the heat, so we stayed out all through the days, then went back just to sleep, but that was impossible because of the hot air, I asked for an extra fan or to get the windows opened , but was refused both. I'll never return there and it totally ruined our trip to Chester.

Fantastic location, unfortunately no aircon in the room and the windows are permanently locked, so the room was uncomfortably hot throughout the night and morning when getting ready. I’d stay here again but not in the summer.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. We were however in the middle of a heatwave and the temperature In the bedroom was unbearable. Eventually, around 1:00 a.m., I went down to reception and asked if we could move, purely for the bed and a decent night's sleep. I was told that the hotel was fully booked and there were no available rooms. I was offered a fan, which I accepted but this had no effect and merely churned the air In the room. There were two windows in the room, neither of which would open, and no air conditioning was available. I was just glad that my wife and I were only booked in for the one night. Anyone staying in similar conditions should review their booking and look elsewhere given the opportunity. We were booked into a deluxe double, room 115.

The weather was extremely hot, you could not open any windows. A fan was provided but didnt help much at all. The linen was clean and fresh the room was clean. The bathroom washbasin plug was blocked up meaning the the water took ages to drain away. It needed attention. The breakfast was acceptable however the staff were not visible for most of the time. No orange juice, hardly any milk on 2/2 mornings. Coffee also required topping up on 1st morning. No hot water for tea on 2nd morning. No variety of fruit, only water melon which i dont like. Cob webs on staircase railings. Definately not as good as previous visits

Parking and comms are the issue. Hotel is well located for walking but terrible for cars and web phone number wasn't answered resulting in 2 x 15 minute walks with luggage to and from the hotel. Shame as staff were great, especially at breakfast.

Front of house on check in were great, no air con in room and windows were screwed shut. Service this morning on check out when needing a receipt was poor after waiting 20 minutes after speaking to staff in the breakfast area to assist I eventually walked out still needing a VAT receipt

The hotel is in an excellent position for exploring Chester. Breakfast was cooked to order and there's plenty of choice. There was a problem with one of the two rooms booked which was not fixed during our stay but we received a partial refund quickly.

Ideal location in centre of town, staff very friendly and quick to react to any needs or concerns Does need a refurb but is clean Did not rate the full breakfast on the first morning, on second morning not able to do full breakfast due to problems with gas supply to the hotel, had cereals and toast and was refunded for the charge of the full breakfast

There is no air-conditioning in this hotel. The room was too hot and so it was impossible to sleep and the windows would not open so the room was stifling. The bar was the same - very hot and uncomfortable.

Entering the property you have high hopes, reception is lovely as is the staircase. rooms are not as in the photos. stain on ceiling. looked out onto a very grotty back building. It is a reasonable hotel for workers/business men but would not recommend for a couples weekend break
