Osborne Hotel

Recently stayed at The Osborne Hotel and found everything excellent. The rooms were clean and well equipped, the breakfast choices were suitable for everyone and very well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend staying if you are in Newcastle.

Nice stay for a great price. No frills or high end finishes but everything was clean, comfortable and in good working order. The breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly. We didn’t have a car so it was nice that it was walking distance to town center and close to public transport. (We stayed in July and the room did not have a fan, but we kept forgetting to ask for if they could provide one so we can’t complain.)

Returned here after a really nice experience previously. Service was great. The room was brilliant, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely although 8.30am is the latest they do on a weekday. One minor thing was my room was right by the extractor vent for the restaurant so this created noise from 6.30am. It wouldnt put me off staying again. Great hotel and I fully recommend it.

This is a small hotel, feels family run and we came for our son's graduation from Newcastle University. He was living in Jesmond so this hotel was a perfect location. The staff made this stay, they were absolutely outstanding. They gave us early check in and were so kind and helpful to my mother in law, who has mobility issues. Absolutely outstanding breakfast too, included in the price. Well done Osborne hotel!

Really friendly staff and convenient location

The staff were just so lovely here. Really really friendly, helpful, bubbly and after a 7 hr drive from Brighton to Newcastle it was nice to be greeted with such friendliness. I can’t remember the ladies name who checked us in but she was super nice (I hope she got Sam fender ;) in the end) and the night guy who was there when we returned from St James’s was also such a nice guy, he was still there in the morning so he saw us off. Both took to time to chat and not just small talk or the regular check in chat. Thanks for having us xx

Nice quiet area.

A small twin room with a tiny shower cubicle but all clean and tidy. Good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Great choice of eating places nearby.

Great hotel with a very warm welcome & nice single room. The room was clean & had everything needed for the night. The bar was a great addition & I really enjoyed having a drink & chatting to Laura from reception. The breakfast tasty & plentiful (even if a little early!) although perfect for when I returned from my run! The staff are very friendly & nothing is a problem for them. I’d recommend this hotel & would stay again.

Good location with very comfortable and clean room. Staff very friendly and welcoming and a good breakfast provided. Good to have parking spaces - just a bit tight for a large car. Lots of places to eat/drink around which was nice.

Ok, truthfully what this hotel doesn't make it in. It makes up for in other ways, the right from the start friendlyness and promptness of staff is why this hotel would be popular, It's by far an asset of this hotel, not to mention the amazing breakfast everyday. The things in which weren't as fabulous where unfortunately the very tired, aged room/suite. It wasnt very roomy for a "family" size. It was quite old and tatty looking, with a strangely modernised toilet/shower room. Beds too firm for my liking, both double and single. I always take toppers but it may be a plus point for the hotel to have some decent ones at hand. Especially for those who like a softer mattress. It is situated along the quieter part of Osborne Road, so quite peaceful, a short walk from the Metro too which was great

Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Clean and nicely decorated room. Room was on second floor and carrying bags up was a little challenging. Parking was quite limited (4 spaces) but luckily one was available. All in all good value.

The hotel was great value for the price. Room was spotless, staff were lovely, breakfast was great, thoroughly recommend.

Spent a night at the Osborne whilst attendind a function in central Newcastle The receptionist who greated me on arival was very pleasent and efficient My room was a single room and although not large it was more than adequate with a modern onsuite bathroom. The room was well decorated and very clean with a single bed desk and sofa Breakfast was cooked to order and the full English was excellent. The waitresses were very efficent and friendly The Osborne was about half the price of the usual chain hotels I stay at in central and was therefore excellent value in this particular evening and I cant really fault the hotel or the staff Only one minor gripe, who ever fitted the bifold door to the shower put the handle on the outside of the door which meant that all that was available to move the door from the inside was two little studs whic with wet soapy hands have no purchase If I handnt been tall enough to reach over the top of the door to push it to start it sliding I would still be in that shower

My partner had a procedure on his back and the staff went above and beyond by letting us have a room on the lowest floor and making sure we were ok and if they could assist in anyway
