Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town.

The service is absolutely disgusting! I booked and paid for a room at this hotel. I drove 4 hours to get here so I could hike in Yorkshire dales early in the morning. Once I got there I was told that they never received my booking. I had the recipt and confirmation email but they refused to acknowledge it. The woman I spoke to on the phone who worked there was rude to me. She asked my name and then told me that a person with my name had already checked in. This was a lie because she had clearly misheard what I had said and told me 'Janice' had checked in. My name is Joanna. Then she said "oh, well they have the same surname as you". She told me to go across the road and try them because they do not have a room for me now. I had to go through Expedia to get my refund (in 7-10 days) then try and find somewhere to stay last minute. I was lucky to find somewhere as I almost had to sleep in my car. I was shocked and appalled at how cold and sharp this woman was to me. She even got annoyed when I had called back and told me "I have already spoken to you, what do you want?". I suffer from severe anxiety and this has been detrimental to my mental health. I would highly recommend anyone to stay away from this hotel if you do not want to be disappointed and ripped off.

Welcoming hostess, good bed and quiet sleep, tasty breakfast, clean bedding and towels. But... I was shocked by the condition of the place. Vey old fashioned and too shabby and worn. Carpets especially bad. Shower room stank awful and shower painted over with white paint. Sink in bedroom painted too. Only a skylight. Not seen anything this bad before, but bearable for me. Fortunately on my own as wife would not have entered this place.

Cheap and cheerful, in need of a lot of tlc. Room 5 was fine although the bathroom floor was very uneven. Breakfast was good, other meals were okay, you get what you pay for! Had to wash everything when we got home due to the smell of fried food.

The whole place stank of old cooking oil. Sticky dirty bannisters. The bed linen and crockery were clean. I had booked for a few nights but left after one as could not sleep because of the disgusting smell.

Unfortunately we didn't feel this property is remotely up to current safety standards or clean enough for people to be allowed to stay. There is also not sufficient dedicated parking for guests (2 spaces total) & we had to sort this out ourselves. The couple who run the place were pleasant and apologised for the parking etc. but this sadly didn't make up for the major concerns we had over the property.

Booked the wrong room due to the photos on the website being incorrect but apparently it was my fault! Total shock when we were shown the room, nearly went straight back home. Room 4 was/is past tired, dangerous extension lead making a crackling noise when we plugged the old kettle in, absolute fire hazard! Tv cable ran under the front of the sink, socket also under the sink! The toilet had the most disgusting smell and the shower screen broke/dirty. The whole occasion was terrible and never again, couldn’t even face breakfast. We have stayed before and room 5 was acceptable and yes we know it’s not 5 star establishment but room 4 needs closing for good. We were looking forward to our return visit but will give The Copper Kettle a massive swerve for our next visit to Kirby Lonsdale. Website needs changing or some poor sod will get the same room. Absolutely gutted to leave such a negative review

Albeit slightly dated, really good for the price, the whole place could probably do with an overhaul but I'd rather have it like it is at the current price, the sheets, towels etc were spotless . Lovely couple and good breakfast. Would stay again.
