Excellent location. Parking available £5 per night. Did not go to breakfast which was 7am till 9am (bit early for us) check out was 11am. Friendly host. Comfy bed, warm room. Only down side you could hear the road traffic but that is probably because of the windows and being a period property and double glazed would not go with the look.

Our overnight stay at The Portland guest house went very well.
We managed to park close by and the check-in process was very speedy.
Unfortunately, though, I hadn't taken into consideration that, being a town house, there would be a lot of stairs with an open balustrade which was an issue for my partner who suffers from a form of vertigo but, after explaining the situation to Rachel, Sian dealt with it quickly by putting us in a room on a lower floor.
The room was lovely - clean and cosy with quality bed linen.
The breakfast was excellent with good quality produce and a comprehensive menu.
The Portland is very well located. Just a short walk into the centre of Cheltenham.
Would definitely recommend the Portland for a comfortable, convenient and friendly stay

Not a bad hotel but a shame breakfast was accompanied by the pinging of the microwave and that the ‘pastries’ were some pretty uninspiring cheap looking croissants. I appreciate we stayed there on Boxing Day but I’d still expect slightly better breakfast.

The stay was fine. The parking was confusing. I pre-paid £5 but parked in the NCP (saying so when I arrived). I have just had a fine from NCP for £40. I now see this is not part of the Zone 10 street parking. The guest house should make this very clear on arrival when they accept payment.

A great guest house within 5mins from shops and brewery quarter. Great value! Friendly and attentive staff and permit parking arranged for a £5 fee for our stay.

Nice large comfy room. Easy walk to High St & shopping. Close to Brewery Qtr & pubs/eateries. Little bit tricky getting close enough in parking zone, but didnt have a lot of luggage, so easy enough. Breakfast little overcooked, but ok.

What lovely little guesthouse! The lady who saw us when we arrived and at breakfast couldn't have been more welcoming. The accommodation was warm and incredibly comfortable. We had a twin room, which can sometimes be a bit tight, but this room was spacious and beautifully furnished. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to Cheltenham.

Very comfortable room, could do with a fan in the room on hot days ( room 6 was very warm when sun was facing the window) staff were lovely and helpful. Will return if visiting Cheltenham again. Thanks again to all the staff for a lovely stay
