Scandic Espoo oli positiivinen yllätys. Talo on vanha, mutta huoneet olivat siistit ja asian mukaiset - tilavat. Ihana yllätys oli että saunat olivat päällä klo 22 asti ja käytössä oli uima-allas - siitä iso plussa. Hotellin ympäristössä erilaisia ruokailuvaihtoehtoja aina kaupasta hyvään ravintolaan. The hotel staff overall was by far the most professional hotel staff I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The room was very comforting, perfect size and had everything to make my stay easier. Only complaint is the driveway leading up to the hotel. Many drivers, either Uber or Wolt had issues locating the entrance.

I asked for the most quiet room, and judging by the layout of the place, I had been granted my wish. It was definitely quiet. Solid and nice. Only a couple of downsides: the second morning of my stay there was some trouble with breakfast, the restaurant was apparently short-staffed and the buffet was running out of everything with long wait-times. No such problems on my first morning. I had specifically been diligent with hanging my towels to use them again, but although they advertise that the concept started with them, my towels had still all been changed.

Rooms are small, but clean and have all the essentials. Sauna was clean and empty for the most part. Breakfast buffet had lots of healthy options. Seating area was big and well-kept. Overall the hotel was clean, but the restaurant side was not. The restaurant in the hotel was not very clean. In addition, the main chef failed to do appropriate hand hygiene on several occasions - he touched his cap and hair with gloves on and did not change his gloves before returning to food preparation; was eating while preparing food; tasted food he had prepared and did not do proper hand hygiene afterwards. Certainly, several other things I noticed during dinner resulted in I not eating the rest of my meal out of fear that the hygiene practices were not up to standards.

The first room we got was dirty and the only thing that had been done was the bed. Dirty cups, bathroom was not cleaned.. The bed was comfortable but we would have rather wished for one big blanket instead of 2 small ones. The hotel is rather old and has not been even tried to look a bit better. Also breakfast was not so great as I have experienced in other Scandic hotels.

I've stayed at this hotel before, so I know what I'm getting. It's very efficient and Scandinavian and I like it. The restaurant is a sports bar, which is OK if you like that, which I'm OK with too. Service is by waiter/waitress and on both occasions I used it, there was something slightly lacking. Half an order was missed on one occasion and on the second, the waitress did not attend to me at all until I made myself know some 10 minutes later. There was one minor room flaw this time. Half a cup of tea and a half drunk glass of water were left and not cleared up after I left for business on the first morning. Normally I do this anyway as I go, but I forgot - and so did housekeeping it seems. Not enough to detract much from the hotel, but worth mentioning.
